Telecom service provider, Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTL), will open 85 new retail outlets during the current financial year in Tamil Nadu to take the number of outlets in the state to 365. The company will invest Rs 68 crore in the project.
Besides, it is planning to increase its footprint in 100 more towns from the present 500 in the state with an investment of Rs 50 crore.
Speaking to reporters here today, Sangeet Nigam, circle operating officer, TTL - Tamil Nadu, said, “We are aiming to expand our presence in rural and semi-rural areas in the state. Of the 85 planned outlets, 45 per cent will come up in rural areas where the population is at least 5,000.” Of its overall subscriber base of 1.1 million customers in the state, TTL was earning a revenue of Rs 45 crore every month by adding 75,000 customers, he said.
The company on Monday launched ‘Go for Gold Offer with Samsung Raaga handset’ on the eve of Diwali. Under this scheme, a subscriber has to pay Rs 1,899 for the Samsung handset against which he gets 150 minutes of free local talk time within the Tata Indicom network and 100 local SMSes free per month.
