With Maharashtra heading for an assembly election later this year — it also gave the ruling NDA alliance 42/48 seats in the Lok Sabha — the state got the lion's share of new trains (13/50) that will originate or terminate in the state, closely followed by the Minister Sadananda Gowda's home state, Karnataka (12/50). West Bengal got only two trains
