L&T bags Rs 356 cr contract from NMDC for water treatment plant

A consortium of Megha Engineering and Koya & Company Construction also wins a Rs 314-cr order for NMDC's upcoming 3-MTPA steel plant in Chhattisgarh

NMDC Ltd has awarded a Rs 356.85-crore contract to Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) for the design, engineering & construction of 5 million cubic meter reservoir water treatment plant of 8600 cu m per hour and distribution network for NMDC’s upcoming 3-MTPA steel plant, NMDC Steel Ltd, at Nagamar, Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh). NMDC Ltd and L&T had inked a contract on January 23, 2015 at Hyderabad for this project.
 
In addition, NMDC Lld and a consortium of Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd and Koya & Company Construction Ltd have signed a contract for a value of Rs 314.58 crores for design, engineering & construction of intake well of capacity 10,000 cu m per hour on river Sabri and cross country pipeline of length 34 km for NMDC's upcoming 3-MTPA steel plant at Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh).
 
"These contracts are very crucial as this will provide water linkage for operation of the plant," said NMDC in a press release.
