Omax Auto, the auto parts and equipment maker, plans to expand capacity with an investment of Rs 17.21 crore.
To cater to the customers in North India, the company will set up a new manufacturing unit at a location at or around Gurgaon with an investment of Rs 2.71 crores. The unit, which will have capacity of 1200 frames per day, is expected to be operational by August 2016.
For expansion purpose, Omax will shift the unit at Pant Nagar, Uttarakhand to another location with more space, within or around same locality. With this move, which will cost the company about Rs 2.5 crores, Omax Auto is aiming to increase the capacity of the plant from 12,000 units per day to 20,000-22,000 units per day.
The board has also approved plans to invest Rs 12 crores to build a new unit with capacity of 1,700 parts per day at Bawal plant, Harayana. Omax expects to commence production at this plant by June 2016.
