Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Sediquallah Atal, and Rahmat Shah fell cheaply, leaving Afghanistan in trouble. However, Zadran steadied the innings with Hashmathullah Shahidi (40 off 67), adding a 103-run stand for the fourth wicket.

 

 

After Shahidi’s dismissal, Azmatullah Omarzai (41 off 31) partnered with Zadran for a 72-run fifth-wicket stand, keeping the scoreboard ticking. Later, Zadran and Mohammad Nabi (40 off 24) accelerated, adding 111 runs for the sixth wicket at a blistering rate of over 11 runs per over, punishing England’s bowlers in the death overs.

 

Zadran brought up his sixth ODI century off 106 balls and later smashed Archer for four consecutive boundaries to reach 150. His aggressive approach put England under immense pressure, further compounded by Mark Wood's injury, limiting his contribution.

 

Zadran eventually fell to Liam Livingstone in the final over, but Afghanistan had already set a daunting total. The match remains crucial as the winner keeps their semi-final hopes alive, while the loser faces elimination.
