The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that its next round of Board and Committee meetings will be held in Doha, Qatar, from March 25 to 27, 2026. The gathering will bring together ICC Board directors, chief executives, committee members and senior leadership to discuss governance matters and key issues shaping the future of international cricket.
The move reflects the governing body’s continued push to engage with emerging cricket regions while expanding the sport’s global footprint.
Doha chosen as host city
The decision to stage the meetings in Doha highlights Qatar’s growing involvement in the sport and the ICC’s collaboration with the Qatar Cricket Association and the National Olympic Committee. Cricket participation in the country has reportedly grown sharply in recent years, driven by school programmes and grassroots initiatives aimed at introducing the game to younger audiences. The ICC believes hosting major administrative events in such regions supports the long-term growth of cricket beyond traditional markets.
Focus of the upcoming discussions
As part of the ICC’s annual governance calendar, the meetings will provide a platform for senior officials to deliberate on key matters concerning the present and future of the global game. Board members and committee representatives are expected to review ongoing cricket developments, administrative priorities and future strategies, with further details of the agenda likely to be shared closer to the event.
Recap of the previous ICC Board meetings
The last ICC Board and Committee meetings were held in Zimbabwe in April 2025, marking a historic first for the country as a host. Sessions took place in Harare on April 10 and 11 before moving to Victoria Falls from April 12 to 13. Those gatherings formed part of the ICC’s effort to rotate its administrative events across different regions while continuing discussions on governance and strategic planning within the sport.
