The 2017 Uttar Pradesh (UP) state elections were fought on various permutations, including caste, colour and creed. The contesting political parties made tall promises to woo voters, and the range of promises was wide — from mobile phones to laptops. Overall, parties in the UP elections battled on all levels to maximise their votes.
