Delhi records AQI in very poor category, min temp of 6.2 degrees Celsius

Delhi's air quality was recorded in the "very poor" category on Sunday and the minimum temperature settled at 6.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average. The relative humidity oscillated between 87 per cent and 63 per cent, the meteorological department said. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature was recorded at 23.7 degree Celsius, one notch above the season's average, the IMD said. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the 24-hour Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital stood at 353 at 4 pm. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered "good", 51 and 100 "satisfactory", 101 and 200 "moderate", 201 and 300 "poor", 301 and 400 "very poor" and 401 and 500 "severe". The weather department has predicted moderate fog for Monday. The minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to settle at around six and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Delhi's air quality was recorded in the "very poor" category on Sunday morning and the minimum temperature in the city settled at 6.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average. The relative humidity was 87 per cent at 8.30 am, the meteorological department said. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital stood at 315 at 9 am. The weatherman has forecast a largely clear sky during the day. The maximum temperature is likely to settle at around 24 degrees Celsius.

Gusting winds help bring down Delhi's AQI to 177, best quality since Oct 15

Winds gusting up to 16 kilometres per hour gave Delhi its best air quality since October 15 on Tuesday. The 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) of the city stood at 177, improving from 218 on Monday. The AQI was 186 on October 15. Delhi govt bans plying of BS-III petrol, BS-IV diesel four-wheelers

The Delhi government on Monday imposed a ban on plying of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers in the city till December 9, in view of restrictions clamped by the Centre's air quality panel under stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). The sub-committee for implementation of GRAP held a meeting on Sunday to review the air quality scenario in the region as well as the forecasts for meteorological conditions and the air quality index of Delhi as air pollution turned severe. "As per the directions as provided under Stage III of the revised GRAP and under section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, it is hereby ordered that there shall be restrictions to ply BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel LMVs (four-wheelers) in NCT of Delhi with immediate effect till December 9 or till downward revision in GRAP stage, whichever is earlier," read an order issued by the transport department. Delhi's air quality shows marginal improvement, AQI stands at 363

A day after entering the "severe" category, Delhi's air quality showed a marginal improvement as it came under the "very poor category" on Monday morning.
