Airtel Africa profit jumps multifold to $813 mn in FY26; revenue up 29.5%

Bharti Airtel's African arm, Airtel Africa, has posted over two-fold jump in its profit to USD 813 million ( about Rs 7,700 crore) for the fiscal year 2026, mainly driven by tariff adjustments in Nigeria and forex gain, the company said on Friday. Airtel Africa said it plans to list Airtel Money in the second half of 2026. The company, which operates in 14 African countries, had posted a profit after tax (PAT) of USD 328 million in the preceding financial year. "Higher profit after tax in the current period was driven by higher operating profit and derivative and foreign exchange gains of USD 127 million, compared to USD 179 million derivative and foreign exchange losses in the prior period," the company said in a statement. Airtel Money's customer base increased by 21.3 per cent year-on-year to 54.1 million, and transacting customers increased by 74 per cent in FY26.
