Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu is set to be sworn in as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, marking his fourth term in the post. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers J P Nadda and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and several other leaders are expected to attend the oath-taking ceremony. The TDP chief is scheduled to take oath at 11.27 am near Gannavaram Airport in Kesarapalli on the outskirts of Vijayawada. Along with Naidu, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, the TDP supremo's son Nara Lokesh and 22 others are also expected to take the oath. According to NDA sources, Pawan Kalyan has been offered the Deputy chief minister's post. Janasena is being offered three cabinet berths and the BJP one. PM Modi to attend Naidu's swearing-in ceremony as Andhra CM on June 12

Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of N Chandrababu Naidu as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh on June 12, an official said on Saturday. Modi is set to be sworn-in as prime minister at ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday evening. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi, state Governor (S Abdul Nazeer) and other eminent people are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony (of Naidu)," Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad said in a statement. Naidu is scheduled to take oath at 11:27 am on Wednesday at the Kesarapalli IT Park near the Gannavaram airport. The chief secretary reviewed the arrangements being made for the ceremony and directed officials to make foolproof preparations. Several VVIPs are expected to arrive at the Gannavaram airport. APSDMA forecasts heat waves for 227 mandals in Andhra Pradesh today

Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) managing director R Kurmanadh said 227 mandals in the state are expected to experience heat waves on Saturday. Of the 227 mandals, 58 of them would experience severe heat waves, while 169 are expected to witness heat waves, he said. "Severe heat waves have been forecast for 12 mandals in Srikakulam district, Vizianagaram (23 mandals), Parvatipuram Manyam (14), Visakhapatnam (one) and Anakapalli (eight)," he said in a press release on Friday. Heat waves are predicted in 13 mandals in Srikakulam district, Vizianagaram (three mandals) and one each in Parvatipuram Manyam, Nellore, Sri Satyasai, West Godavari and Annamayya. EC issues order barring Andhra govt's ward, village volunteers from duties

The Election Commission has issued an order barring the Andhra Pradesh government's ward and village volunteers from carrying out their activities such as disbursing welfare benefits, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena said on Saturday. The Commission has also asked the state government to refrain from releasing the results of Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) and conducting the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Recruitment Test (APTRT) while the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in force.
