Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Thursday that his government's public welfare schemes have brought a positive change in the lives of lakhs of people and Rajasthan is now becoming a "model state" in the country. Gehlot was addressing a programme organized to honour the beneficiaries of various schemes of the state government on the occasion of Rajasthan Day. According to officials, a large number of beneficiaries attended this programme online and offline. Gehlot govt worthless, useless; BJP will win next assembly polls: BJP chief

Newly appointed Rajasthan BJP president CP Joshi on Monday termed the Congress government in the state as "worthless and useless", and asserted that his party will win the next assembly elections. "We will work as a team in Rajasthan. I am a worker of the party and will work with the guidance and support of senior leaders," he said while talking to reporters in Kotputli on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. He was on his way from Delhi to Jaipur to take charge as the BJP's state chief. "We will become team Rajasthan and will take the party forward," he said. Hitting out at the Ashok Gehlot government, Joshi said it was a "worthless and useless" government. The Lok Sabha MP from Chittorgarh asserted that the BJP will form the next government in Rajasthan. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday appealed to doctors agitating against the Right to Health Bill passed by the Assembly earlier this week to end their protest. The chief minister directed the chief secretary to hold a meeting with the protesting doctors Saturday night in a bid to end their protest. Gehlot said the interests of the doctors have been taken care of in the bill and that their agitation is not justified. Senior BJP leader Vasundhara Raje on Friday termed the budget announcements made by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot an attempt to fulfil "personal political interests". "The new announcements of the Congress government are just an attempt to fulfil their personal political interests. In this effort, he has put the entire economic system of Rajasthan at stake. Rajasthan govt announces creation of 19 new districts, 3 new divisions

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced his government's decision to form 19 new districts and three new divisions in the state, earmarking Rs 2,000 crore for development of infrastructure for them. This is the first time since 2008 that new districts are being carved out, taking the number of districts to 50 in the state. Gehlot made the announcement in the Rajasthan assembly, which also passed the 2023-24 Budget with a voice vote. He said a high-level committee was formed to study the formation of new districts and the state government has received a report. "In this way, the state will now have 19 new districts," the chief minister said during a discussion on the Budget. The three new divisions will be in Banswara, Pali and Sikar, he said. Rajasthan will spend Rs 362.13 crore to provide drinking water in 367 villages of Udaipur district. Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot approves Rs 37 crore for irrigation projects

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday approved Rs 37 crore for various projects that aim to increase irrigation efficiency and prevent water wastage in canals and dams. As part of the projects, the Kagdi dam in Banswara district will be renovated at a cost of Rs 10 crore. Another Rs 11.73 crore will be used to line the canal from the Gajadharpura sewage treatment plant to Kalakh dam in Jaipur's Kalwad tehsil, the government said in a statement. The canal from Mora Sagar dam Sawaimadhopur district's in Bamanwas tehsil will be lined at an estimated cost of Rs 15.03 crore, it said. The projects will allow improved irrigation efficiency and minimise water wastage. In the Budget for 2022-23, Gehlot had announced projects worth Rs 800 crore for the renovation of dams and canals. Of these, works worth Rs 611.95 crore have been approved.

Sanjivani scam: Will make effort to get back victims' money, says Gehlot

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday said the state government will make every possible effort to get back the deposits of victims of Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society scam. Gehlot said this after meeting a delegation of the victims of the fraud here, an official release said. The victims, who came from different districts of the state, apprised the chief minister about the cheating of their crores of rupees as well as their deteriorating financial conditions. BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh on Saturday attacked the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan over a string of paper leaks in recent months, calling it a betrayal of the state's youths. Addressing a protest rally here, the BJP's Rajasthan in-charge said incidents of paper leak did not happen once or twice but 16 times during the Gehlot regime. "This government is good for nothing. Gehlot announces relief package of Rs 5 lakh for families of Junaid, Nasir

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday announced a relief package of Rs 5 lakh each for families of Junaid and Nasir, whose charred bodies were found in Haryana's Bhiwani district after they were abducted from Bharatpur. "The state government will provide Rs 5 lakh compensation each to the wives and children of both the deceased. An amount of Rs 1 lakh each will be provided as cash whereas a fixed deposit of Rs 4 lakh each will be done so that the dependent families do not face any problem in the education and marriage of the kids," he told reporters.
