Brics summit: 15,000 Delhi Police personnel to be deployed for security

Delhi Police has put in place a multi-layered security for the upcoming BRICS Summit, with around 15,000 personnel and 200 companies of paramilitary forces to be deployed across the national capital, a senior police officer said on Thursday. Manish Kumar Agrawal, Special Commissioner of Police (Protective/Security Division), said the arrangements have been planned to ensure maximum security for visiting dignitaries while causing minimum inconvenience to the public. "We have made elaborate bandobast by ensuring minimum inconvenience to the public. We have also issued advance advisories regarding traffic arrangements," Agrawal said. He said the Delhi Police is working in close coordination with multiple agencies for the summit and extensive surveys of all identified routes have already been carried out. Massive deployment will be made for law and order, security and traffic management, he said, adding that security arrangements will cover the airport, hotels and other scheduled and .

DGCA restricts flying activities at UP training schools during Brics summit

Flying Training Organisations (FTOs) operating from Uttar Pradesh will not be permitted to undertake flying activities for three days during the BRICS Summit in Delhi as part of enhanced security measures, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). In a communication to all FTOs, the DGCA said the restrictions would be in force from 7 am on September 11 to 11 pm on September 13 in view of the BRICS Summit-2026 being held in the national capital. The order specifically states that "no aircraft including light/micro-light aircraft, hang gliders, helicopters etc. is permitted to fly even to start from any FTO" located in Uttar Pradesh during the specified period. The restriction will also apply to FTOs located in Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, according to the communication dated September 7.
