Global cyber security firm TAC Security on Monday announced its plan to go public this year and raise funds from the capital market to expand its operation with an aim to increase its turnover to Rs 100 crore by 2026. SaaS (Software as a service) firm TAC Security, founded by entrepreneur Trishneet Arora in 2013, is one of the leading players in cybersecurity. TAC Security, a pioneer in risk and vulnerability management worldwide, is eyeing a revenue of Rs 100 crore by 2026, a company statement said. However, the company did not disclose its current turnover. According to the statement, the company is aggressively exploring capital-raising options, including an initial public offering (IPO) in early 2024. Kaspersky, IIT Delhi partner for cybersecurity talent development in India

Global cyber security company Kaspersky and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) have signed an agreement to jointly work on cybersecurity-related research and educational initiatives at the institute, the company said on Thursday. Under the agreement, Kaspersky and IIT Delhi will exchange knowledge and expertise, develop educational materials, organise and promote events to raise cybersecurity awareness, and sponsor merit (academic) awards or prizes to encourage IIT Delhi students to pursue careers in ICT and Cybersecurity, the statement said. iPhone notifications to MPs: Apple to meet CERT-In officials this month

Apple's cyber security executives from the US are expected to meet officials of CERT-In this month regarding the show cause notice issued to the company in the wake of several opposition MPs receiving a warning notification on their iPhones. Last month, several opposition leaders claimed they have received an alert from Apple warning them of "state-sponsored attackers trying to remotely compromise" their iPhones and alleged hacking by the government. CERT-In, which comes under Meity, had issued a show cause notice to Apple in this regard. On Friday, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that Apple has to reply to the notice which needs to be done by their global cyber security team. MPs raise concerns over cyber security in the new Parliament building

Parliamentarians on Friday raised concerns over cyber security in the new Parliament building and called upon banks for taking adequate steps to secure the financial assets of public at large. The MPs also stressed on the need to increase cyber security awareness in the country and called for developing a "cyber consciousness index" to guage it. 'Indian cyberspace seeing incidents at higher rate than global average'

The Indian cyberspace has seen nearly double the number of cyber incidents as compared to the global average, National Cybersecurity Coordinator MU Nair said on Sunday. Addressing a session on Aligning Technologies to Future Conflicts' at the Synergia Conclave 2023, Nair said ransomware attack payments of nearly USD 1.54 billion have been made on an average over the past 10 months, which has doubled since 2022. These payments are just the tip of an iceberg since several of these incidents go unreported, he said. Nair said the Indian cyberspace has seen cyber incidents at an average of 2127 times during the past six months, which is much more than the global average of 1108. Nair said it's time for countries to rally together to contain and limit disruptive practices on cyberspace. The Finance Ministry has asked state-owned banks to review systems and processes related to their digital operation in view of the recent UCO Bank incident. According to sources, the banks have been advised to check their cybersecurity robustness and take measures to strengthen them. Banks should keep a tight vigil, and there should be readiness for future cyber threats, sources said. The Finance Ministry and RBI have been sensitising banks on this aspect at regular intervals amid the growing digitisation in the financial sector.
