Police launch investigation into Dilli Haat fire that gutted over 30 shops

The Delhi Police said it has launched an investigation into the fire that broke out at Dilli Haat in south Delhi's INA area in which at least 30 shops were gutted. Police will examine CCTV footage from multiple areas to determine the cause of the fire on Wednesday night, an official said. No casualties were reported. "We have launched a detailed investigation into the fire incident that took place at Dilli Haat. We have formed multiple teams," said a senior police officer. The officer said police are also verifying the response time of the fire teams that rushed to the location. Massive fire at Dilli Haat-INA market guts several stalls, no casualties

A massive fire broke out at the Dilli Haat, a popular market, at INA in South Delhi on Wednesday night, an official of the Delhi Fire Service said. Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said that the fire has been brought under control and that there was no immediate report of any casualties in the incident. An official in the Delhi Fire Services said, "We received a call regarding fire at Dilli Haat Market INA at 8.55 pm and have deployed 13 fire engines at the spot. Further operation is underway." Dilli Haat-INA, Chandni Chowk and Connaught Place are among the most sought-after locations for film and web series shoots in Delhi, which has witnessed over a dozen productions since the implementation of the city government's film policy last May, an official said on Tuesday. The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation acts as a facilitator for film productions in the capital. The Tourism department has received 52 applications for film and web series shoots since the Delhi Film Policy - 2022 was introduced last May, the official said.
