I will be honest, I had done well but I did not imagine to score this well,"Kajaria, who had Gujarati as an elective subject, told PTI. However, Bansal was confident of his performance in the exam. "I had done the calculation of how much I will be scoring and it was nearly correct. So in a way, I was expecting this," said Bansal, a resident of Muktsar who had taken Punjabi as a subject. The second rank was shared by 10 students with 497 marks while the third rank was bagged by 24 students with 496 marks. The exam was cleared by 98.54 per cent of the total candidates. While the pass percentage of girls is 99.05 per cent, that of boys is 98.12 per cent.

The Mizoram Cabinet Tuesday decided to constitute a committee under chief secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo to look into various issues being faced by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) University, Mizoram, an official statement said. The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Zoramthanga decided to form a committee comprising of representatives from the state government, ICFAI University headquarters, teaching staff and non-teaching staff from ICFAI University Mizoram. "The committee was constituted to study and discuss various issues faced by the ICFAI University, Mizoram and to come up with suggestions or steps to be taken to resolve the issues," the statement quoted Chuaungo as saying. Agitation was recently launched by ICFAI students protesting the fee structures and other wide-ranging issues, prompting the vice chancellor Lt Gen (Retd) Dr A K Mishra to resign recently.
City based Nalsar University of Law Tuesday denied the Congress charge of violating any policy on reservation for Backward Classes and local students and clarified it provides 20 per cent for those from Telangana. AICC spokesperson Sravan had written to Telangana Chief Minister K C Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday, charging the law school with denying 85 per cent quota for students from the state and having no reservation for BCs. Prof. Balakista Reddy,Registrar of Nalsar, in a statement here, said the University has to function in accordance with the Nalsar University Act, 1998, which originally did not provide for any reservation, including local reservation. It was only in 2010 that the Act was amended and Section 5A inserted in it, as per which there would be reservation in courses for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Physically Challenged Persons, Women and resident students of Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana). BJP leaders in Telangana Tuesday called on family members of students who allegedly committed suicide ever since the results were declared on April 18, upset over the marks they got. The alleged goof-up in the declaration of results by Board of Intermediate Education led to protests by students, parents, students' organisations and political parties in the state. State BJP president K Laxman and party MP Bandaru Dattatreya separately met family members of students who allegedly committed suicide. While Laxman met some in Hyderabad, Dattatreya visited a family in Warangal. "This is not a suicide. Karnataka students who missed the medical entrance examination NEET on Sunday due to a train delay will get another chance, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said Monday. The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for these students will be conducted on May 20, he said. The decision was taken following a request by Karanataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy. "Happy to announce that Karnataka students who missed NEET exam due to railway delay will get another chance," Javadekar tweeted.
