More than 400 women from the rural parts of Maharashtra's Nanded, who recently cleared their Class 12 board examination, have received job offers from Tata Electronics Private Ltd (TEPL) as part of an initiative of the district administration. The initiative was taken up by assistant collector Kirtikiran Pujar who heads the integrated tribal project in Kinvat area of Nanded in Marathwada. "Bureaucracy and the corporate world have come together to provide employment to 410 women, who were chosen during a talent drive in Kinwat, a district official said. Kinwat is a predominantly tribal area, located some 360 km away from Aurangabad. Pujar got in touch with TEPL and the human resources department of the company responded to the proposal, following which a two-day talent hunt was held on September 6 and 7, the official said. The rally, which started at Haiderbeig area of Pattan in north Kashmir, was flagged off by the GOC of counter-insurgency force, Srinagar-based PRO Defence said. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday launched a scheme on the lines of the MGNREGA to provide 100 days of employment to families in urban areas. Calling the launching of the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme historic, Gehlot said any family that wants to increase their income at a time of high inflation could seek jobs under it. : The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), headed by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Monday approved various investment proposals worth Rs 1,26,748 crore that would create 40,330 direct employment over the next seven years. Of the total, Rs 81,000 crore would be invested on green energy projects that would generate 17,930 MW of power, the Chief Minister's Office said in a release. Besides, two other solar power plants with a total capacity of 60 GW are also proposed. According to the release, the SIPB approved a proposal from Causis E-Mobility for an investment of Rs 386.23 crore on an electric bus-manufacturing unit at Kopparthy in YSR district. The venture would create over 1,200 jobs. The release said Lyfius Pharma would invest Rs 1,900 crore on its drug manufacturing unit in the Kakinada SEZ.
