Scarlett Johansson trashes 'demeaning' report that claims she auditioned to date Cruise
Actor Scarlett Johansson has trashed a report claiming that she auditioned to date superstar Tom Cruise. A former Scientologist had claimed that the "Avengers: Infinity War" star was one amongst the listed women to audition to date Cruise following his split from Nicole Kidman years ago. "The very idea of any person auditioning to be in a relationship is so demeaning," Johansson said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "I refuse for anyone to spread the idea that I lack the integrity to choose my own relationships. Only a man aka Brendan Tighe would come up with a crazy story like that," she added. Actor Robert Pattinson will be bestowed with the prestigious President's Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival The 32-year-old actor, best known for the "Twilight" franchise and Safdie Brothers' "Good Time", will receive the award at the closing ceremony of the 53rd edition of the festival, which is held annually in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic in July. "British actor Robert Pattinson will be a special guest at the closing ceremony of this year's Karlovy Vary International Film Festival," the festival organisers said in a statement. "During the evening ceremony, Pattinson will receive the festival President's Award, which is presented to outstanding personalities of world cinema," it added.
