Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani on Wednesday revealed the reason behind the title of the much-anticipated biopic 'Sanju'.Hirani took to Twitter to make the revelation that Sanjay Dutt's mother and legendary actress Nargis Dutt would lovingly address the actor as Sanju.Along with a poster, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Manisha Koirala, the director wrote, "She lovingly called him #Sanju, and now that's what we all do too! The Supreme Court today refused to stall the release of Rajinikanth-starrer 'Kaala' which is scheduled to hit theatres tomorrow. A vacation bench comprising Justices A K Goel and Ashok Bhushan refused to entertain a plea by K S Rajashekaran, who sought an injunction against release of the movie. "You want an injunction against the release of the movie. Everybody is waiting for the film to be released," the bench told the counsel appearing for the petitioner. The petitioner has approached the apex court against the May 16 order of the Madras High Court which has posted his plea against the release of the movie for hearing on June 16. The petitioner has claimed that his copyright-protected work related to story scenes and songs were used by the producer of the movie without prior permission.
Salman Khan has seen the trailer of "Sanju", a biopic on friend Sanjay Dutt's life, but believes the actor should have been a part of his story, particulary in the last portions. Ranbir Kapoor has played Dutt's role in the film, that chronicles his life from his young years to his life after jail. "For 'Sanju', I was thinking why is somebody else playing this bit? The last 8-10 years. you cannot do justice to that. Sanju should have played the last bit," Salman said in a group interview here. "I have seen the trailer. Raju Hirani is a very sensible filmmaker so he has made a film," he added. Asked if he is fine with a biopic on his life, Salman said,"No." When prodded further about an autobiography, Salman said, "No. I anyway say things openly... But I don't want to do it." Jared Leto's The Joker may be getting his own stand-alone movie as Batman's arch-nemisis. The actor, who played the Clown Prince of Crime in "Suicide Squad", would also executive produce the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The solo film, under Warner Bros, will be set in the 'Suicide Squad' universe. The studio is already developing a Joker origins movie, which would be directed by Todd Phillips. Joaquin Phoenix's name is doing the rounds to star in the film to be produced by Martin Scorsese. Phillips will pen the script with "8 Mile" scribe Scott Silver. The Joker has memorably been part of two Batman movies with Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger portraying the part. Leto will reprise his role in the "Suicide Squad" sequel and the Harley Quinn spin-off.

"Empire" co-creator Lee Daniels is in negotiations to helm jazz icon Billie Holiday biopic "Billie". Sources told Variety actor Andra Day is being sought for the title role with Lakeith Stanfield as the male lead. Pulitzer-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks is writing the script and, Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum are attached as producers. The film is still looking for a studio and it is unknown when production would begin. Daniels has not directed any feature since 2013's "The Butler", his main focus being shows "Empire" and "Star" lately. Earlier, Diana Ross played Holiday in a 1972 biopic and a 1986 Broadway play, "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill" paid tributes to the singer, whose real name was Eleanora Fagan.
One of the goal nets used in Brazil's humiliating 7-1 defeat in the 2014 World Cup against Germany will be cut up and sold for charity. The Mineirao stadium in Belo Horizonte, where Brazil's footballing meltdown occurred on July 8 four years ago, announced the sale Tuesday. The net will be cut into 8,150 pieces and sold online for a minimum of 71 euros a piece, the price, which is about USD 83, echoing the infamous scoreline. One of the nets will remain in Belo Horizonte, but the one going to charity saw most of the action: a barrage of five first-half German goals and the solitary Brazilian effort, scored by Oscar, in the second half. The posts will go on tour to a football museum in Germany. "The idea is to transform this traumatic incident that everyone would prefer to forget into something positive," said Mineirao's director Samuel Lloyd. Organizers hope to raise at least 500,000 euros (USD 586,000) for charities in Brazil.
Jada Pinkett Smith said she was "devastated" when her son Jaden Smith moved out of the house at the age of 15. The 46-year-old actor-singer said she eventually came to terms with the idea that children need there own space. "One thing that I've learned is that every child need something different. At 15-years-old, Jaden, and I remember this day specifically, it's probably one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life. "You got to a point where you told me straight up, you were like, 'Mom, I have to leave here to live my life.' I remember thinking to myself, as devastated as I was, I was like, 'He's right.
