Jon Hamm reveals Jeremy Renner broke his arms while 'Tag' shooting

Jon Hamm has revealed his "Tag" co-star Jeremy Renner broke both of his hands while shooting for the film. Hamm joked that Renner, known for doing death-defying stunts as Hawkeye in Marvel's "Avengers" franchise, fractured his "firewood"-like arms on the third day of filming the new comedy movie. "Jeremy Renner... Broke both of his arms on the same time. Day three of production. We had 40 more days to go. "Keep in mind this is a man who's done a hundred 'Avengers' movies and been fine. And he does a movie about playing tag... both arms, like firewood, just snapped like a matchstick," the "Mad Man" alum told Ellen DeGeneres on her show. Hamm said Renner then continued shooting for the film wearing "green casts". "We eventually painted (them) out in the edit (as part of CGI)... He is a hardworking man," he added. "Tag" is based on a story written in the Wall Street Journal back in 2013 that revolves around a group of ex-classmates who meet up and organise a game of tag that finds them ..

Justin Bieber to voice star in and develop 'Cupid' animated movie

Singer Justin Bieber is on board to develop a "Cupid" animated movie, in which he will also feature as the voice of the lead character. The 24-year-old musician will executive produce and Mythos Studios will serve as partners, Variety reported. Scooter Braun and David Maisel are attached as producers. They described Cupid as the legendary winged God of Love from classical mythology - the son of Venus, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, and Mars, the God of War. "When this project was brought to Justin, he instantly was excited to be a part of it. Fortunately for us, like Cupid, he knows a little bit about love and mischief," Mythos Studios co-founder Braun said. "Both myself and Scooter have a lifelong love of mythology and we are so excited to partner with Justin to bring the amazing, magical story of Cupid to the world," Maisel added. Benedict Cumberbatch would like to turn director

"Avengers: Infinity War" star Benedict Cumberbatch said he would like to try his hand at direction in future. The 41-year-old actor, who besides starring in "Patrick Melrose" also executive produces the miniseries, told Claire Foy during Variety's 'Actors on Actors' that he would like to branch out. "That thing of being there at the front door is a wonderful experience. It's my first feeling of that inception-to-completion-thing which I kind of want as a director at some point, but I'm terrified of that, so I'd probably start incredibly small," Cumberbatch told "The Crown" star. The actor said he would take the reins of the project in his hands in which he would not act and that would allow him to be an active parent in his children's lives. "In all honestly, a bit like going back to the theatre, because of family and wanting to be a more present dad, that's so involving," he said. Citing Ed Berger's example, who directed "Patrick Melrose", the actor added, "(He) directed all five of .

'Batman & Robin' biggest influence on my career, says George Clooney

George Clooney called "Batman & Robin" a career wake-up call for him and said it was after the epic debacle of the film he realised that he wanted to be in "control" of the work he does. The 1997 superhero film, which was both a critical and commercial dud at the box office, saw the 57-year-old star don the costume as Gotham's Caped Crusader. When asked which of his films has had the biggest influence on his craft, Clooney answered the question in a heartbeat. "It's really easy to pick: Batman & Robin. That's not a joke. Up until that moment, I was an actor only concerned with finding work. After the failure of that film creatively, I understood that I needed to take control of the films I made, not just the role. "My next three films were 'Out of Sight', 'Three Kings' and 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?'" the actor told The Hollywood Reporter. Clooney, who made his acting debut on television in 1978 with "ER", dubbed the medical drama as his moment of arrival. His role as Dr Doug

Gandhi biopic marks start of 125th commemoration of Satyagraha in South Africa

The screening of the biopic 'Making of a Mahatma' here today marked the opening of a three-day series of events to commemorate the historic incident 125 years ago when Mahatma Gandhi was evicted from a train because the compartment he was in was reserved for whites only. On the night of June 7, 1893, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a young lawyer then, was thrown off the train's first class compartment at Pietermaritzburg station for refusing to give up his seat. The incident led him to develop his Satyagraha principles of peaceful resistance and mobilise people in South Africa and in India against the discriminatory rules of the British. The film, a co-production between India and South Africa, was made in 1996, soon after Nelson Mandela ascended to the position of South Africa's first democratically-elected President. Directed by Shyam Benegal and based on the book 'Apprenticeship of a Mahatma' by late freedom activist Prof Fatima Meer, the film recalls the incident and developments ...
