Veteran director Pedro Almodovar has announced his next project, starring Antonio Banderas and his frequent collaborator Penelope Cruz. The 68-year-old director, who is best known for Oscar winning film "All About My Mother", as well as "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" and "Volver", will be helming the film "Dolor Y Gloria" ("Pain And Glory"). Women are leading the Cannes Film Festival's Competition jury with filmmakers Ava DuVernay, actors Kristen Stewart and Lia Seydoux joining president Cate Blanchett. Blanchett, a two-time Oscar winner, is heading the jury that features five women, four men, seven nationalities and five continents. They will reveal the winners on Saturday, May 19 during the Closing Ceremony, festival organisers said in a statement. 'Irada' director working on youth-centric film

Aparnaa Singh is elated that her directorial debut "Irada", which addressed the issue of water contamination in Punjab, recently bagged a National Award. The filmmaker already has her eyes set on eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, where her next would be based. She says she is currently working on a "youth-centric film" based in Bihar with glimpses of eastern UP. "It is an engaging and entertaining trippy film. Director Umesh Shukla says a sequel to the hit 2012 comedy "OMG - Oh My God!" is on the cards and the team has already started working on it. The satirical comedy-drama, based on a Gujarati stage-play, starred Paresh Rawal as an atheist who sues God after an earthquake destroys his antique shop. The film, which explored the themes of religion and superstition, also had Akshay Kumar play modern-day Lord Krishna. Post the success of the film, the work on the sequel was on since 2015. When asked about the status of the sequel, Umesh told PTI, "We are working on it. We have found a germ of the idea too, but it will take some time to finish it. It is an interesting idea. Jackie Chan, Constance Wu to voice star in 'Wish Dragons'

International action legend Jackie Chan and "Fresh Off The Boat" actor Constance Wu have been roped in to voice star in animated film, "Wish Dragon". The Sony Pictures' animation is a modern retelling of the classic genie-in-a-bottle tale from 'One Thousand and One Nights', according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will be directed by Chris Appelhans. Aron Warner will produce with Chris Bremble. Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jimmy Wong and Bobby Lee will also lend their voices in the film. John Cho and Jimmy O Yang are in negotiations to join the cast. The film is a Chinese co-production with Chan's Beijing-based Sparkle Roll Media Corporation and Base Animation. DiCaprio to present Martin Scorsese with Robert Osborne Award

Leonardo DiCaprio will be presenting the inaugural Robert Osborne Award to his frequent collaborator Martin Scorsese during the 2018 TCM Classic Film Festival. DiCaprio, 43, will present the award to Scorsese, 75, for his decades-long commitment to the legacy and preservation of classic films, and will be present the award on April 26 during opening night of the festival, the organisers said in a statement. DiCaprio has appeared in five of Scorsese's films till now. Their partnership started with 2002's "Gangs of New York" and over the years, the duo have worked on films such as "The Aviator" (2004), "The Departed" (2006), "Shutter Island" (2010) and "The Wolf of Wall Street" (2013).
