Veteran actor Anupam Kher has secured a nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category at the British Academy Television Awards 2018 for his role in the drama "The Boy with the Topknot". The show, which aired on BBC Two last year, is based on a critically acclaimed memoir of the same name by journalist Sathnam Sanghera. Noting that the cost of food and water inside multiplexes was exorbitant, the Bombay High Court today opined that it should be sold at regular prices. The Maharashtra government told the court that it would soon frame a policy on the issue. A division bench of justices S M Kemkar and M S Karnik was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by city resident Jainendra Baxi, challenging the prohibition on carrying outside food inside movie theatres and multiplexes across the state. The petitioner's lawyer, Aditya Pratap Singh, told the court there does not exist any legal or statutory provision that prohibits one from carrying personal food articles or water inside movie theatres. The multiplexes sell food and water inside, but at an increased price, he said. Agreeing to this, Justice Kemkar said, "The price of food and water bottles sold inside movie theatres are, indeed, exorbitant. We have ourselves experienced it. Hugh Laurie has joined George Clooney in drama miniseries "Catch 22". The show marks the return of the 58-year-old actor to Hulu, after he starred in the two seasons of the streaming service's "Chance". Laurie will play Major de Coverley, the squadron executive officer at the Pianosa air base to Clooney's commander Colonel Cathcart, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ellen Kuras also has joined the miniseries and will produce and direct two episodes. The series is based on Joseph Heller's 1961 novel of the same name. Set in Italy, the six-part series follows the story of John Yossarian (Christopher Abbott), a US Air Force bombardier who does not like the increasing number of flight missions being assigned. "Stranger Things" showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer have been sued for allegedly ripping off the idea of a short film to create their hit Netflix show. Charlie Kessler claims that the show is based on his short film "Montauk" and a feature film script titled "The Montauk Project". Both the short film and script revolve around a government facility and the paranormal happenings taking place in its surrounding areas. Kessler said he pitched the idea for the film to Matt and Ross Duffer, also known as The Duffer Brothers, when he met them at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2014, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He said the talks were not able to materialise, but the Duffer brothers used the idea and turned it into "Stranger Things", which debuted in 2016 on the streaming site Netflix.
