Kiersey Clemons to star in Zorro reboot

Actor Kiersey Clemons has joined the cast of "Zorro" film "Z" which will be directed by Jonas Cuaron. The 24-year-old star joins "Mozart in the Jungle" actor Gael Garcia Bernal in the film, which will be also written by Cuaron, reported Variety. The film is a co-production between Lantica Pictures and Mark Amin's Sobini Films and re-imagines the classic legend based on the beloved masked vigilante. Clemons was recently cast as the female lead in the upcoming The Flash movie. She will play the character of Irish West opposite Ezra Miller, who is reprising his "Justice League" superhero role of Barry Allen aka The Flash.

"The Crown" star Claire Foy has announced separation from her husband Stephen Campbell Moore. The couple had married in 2015 and together have a daughter, Ivy Rose, who was born in March 2015. They had met on the set of the film "Season of the Witch" in 2011. Foy, 33, in a statement to The Sun, revealed that she had been separated from Moore for quite "some time". Director Joss Whedon has exited the yet-untitled "Batgirl" project of Warner Bros and DC Entertainment. "The Avengers" helmer had joined the project in March last year and was supposed to write, direct, and produce the Batgirl film. Boyd Holbrook to star in Netflix's 'In the Shadow of the Moon'

"Narcos" star Boyd Holbrook is re-teaming with Netflix and will play the lead in the thriller film "In the Shadow of the Moon". The film will be helmed by "Hap and Leonard" creator Jim Mickle while the script has been penned by Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock, reported Variety. MoU signed with UP govt on Rs 500-cr Ramayana film: Producers

One of the producers of a planned Rs 500 film on the Ramayana today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government's cinema arm Film Bandhu. The MoU was sealed at the UP Investors Summit 2018, today, according to a statement by the producer Madhu Mantena. Billed as India's most expensive film, the project is also backed by Allu Aravind and Namit Malhotra besides Mantena. Awanish Kumar Awasthi, principle secretary (information department) and chairman of Film Bandhu, announced that they will fully support the efforts of making "Ramayana" in Uttar Pradesh, the statement said. There was, however, no official word on the development. Speaking at the event, Mantena said he was inspired to make the film by the life and work of Anand Pai of Amar Chitra Katha. Pai popularised mythological stories through his Amar Chitra Katha stories. Actor-politician Kamal Haasan today opposed "saffronisation," saying all sections of people should be given their space and respect. Using the national flag as a symbol to convey his political message, the actor denied the accusation that he was denigrating the Hindu right wing ideology.
