Viacom 18 debuts into Bengali webseries
Entertainment major Viacom 18 today debuted into Bengali web series entertainment segment with 'Aschorjo packet', a comic chat show. The chat show will feature two celebrities of the entertainment world and an anchor who covers her face with a packet in each episode, a Viacom 18 spokesperson said here today. "We have shot five episodes of 'Ashchorjo Packet' with 10 celebrities," he said. The pairs include director-actor Raj Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee, actors Rudranil Ghosh and Payel Sarkar, actor-director Paoli Dam and Mainak Bhaumik, he said. In the episodes popular Bengali RJ Manali is the anchor in conversation with the celebrities, who divulge interesting facts about their lives and participate in multiple fun and game segments. Chakraborty told PTI, "It was all fun and I played a director of short a commercial of a local ointment. Abir Chatterjee and I enjoyed our episode thoroughly." Robert Pattinson to star in 'The Lighthouse'
Actor Robert Pattinson has joined William Dafoe in fantasy horror film "The Lighthouse". Robert Eggers is directing the project from his own script, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film, which is scheduled to go on floors this year, is set in the world of old sea-faring myths, taking place in Nova Scotia in the early 20th century and centring on an aging lighthouse keeper (Dafoe). Rodrigo Teixeira and Lourenco Sant' Anna will produce via their Brazil-based RT Features. The project hails from A24, which recently worked with Pattinson on "Good Time" and Dafoe on "The Florida Project".

'Carpool Karaoke' renewed for season 2
James Corden's CBS-produced "Carpool Karaoke" has been renewed by Apple Music for second season. Based on a popular segment from Cordens CBS talk series "The Late Late Show," "Carpool Karaoke: The Series" features celebrities riding around in cars together and singing songs. The series premiered in August, reported Variety. CBS Television Studios and Fulwell 73 are producing the series, with Corden, Ben Winston, and Eric Pankowski serving as executive producers.
