Hollywood has taken a toll on both of my sons:Afflecks' father

Father of actors Ben and Casey Affleck, Timothy has criticised the culture of Hollywood for ruining the lives of his sons. Calling the film industry a "disgusting place", Timothy said he believes the showbiz also contributed to his elder son's alcoholism. "It has taken a toll on both of my sons. Hollywood is a disgusting place. I think that's been a major factor in Ben's drinking. "You're kind of forced to develop a persona that is hard to shed and go home to your family. It affects your whole life. I think that's one of the dangers of the film industry," Timothy told Grazia magazine. The 74-year-old also went on to take the onus of Ben's drinking problem on him as he was a long time "chronic, severe alcoholic" in the past. "I had to recover and, happily, I did. Perry would rewrite 'I kissed a girl' if it released today

"I kissed a girl" is one of Katy Perry's biggest hits but the singer would rewrite 2008 song to remove some "stereotypes" if it was released today. In an interview with Glamour magazine, the singer, 33, said society has changed a lot in the last 10 years. "We've really changed, conversationally, in the past 10 years. We've come a long way. Bisexuality wasn't as talked about back then, or any type of fluidity. If I had to write that song again, I probably would make an edit on it," she said. "Lyrically, it has a couple of stereotypes on it. Your mind changes so much in 10 years, and you grow so much. What's true for you can evolve." The singer did not specify the lyrics that she wanted to change but it would probably be: "I kissed a girl just to try it/I hope my boyfriend don't mind it. It's not what good girls do/Not how they should behave.

NPAs are Congress' sins, says Modi

Squarely blaming the previous UPA government for the NPAs in banks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said his government was wrongly criticised for the "sins" of the Congress which even hid the exact value of these stressed assets. Replying in the Lok Sabha to the motion of thanks on President's address, Modi claimed if he had revealed the staggering figure of the Non Performing Assets (NPAs) earlier, it would have deeply hurt the economy but now he was doing so with evidence as banks were getting back into good health. He said the Congress gave wrong figures as NPAs were 82 per cent and not 36 per cent. Modi said that the total advance made by banks rose from Rs 18 lakh crore to Rs 52 lakh crore. "People should now know the truth.... It is the interest on what you squandered away. These are your sins," Modi said targeting the Congress, and alleged that loans were given away to the people who were close to those in power. After the NDA took over, not a single loan was ..
