Teary-eyed fans, actors, politicians pay homage to Ambareesh

Scores of fans and followers led by top south Indian actors like Rajinikanth and Mohan Babu paid tributes to actor-turned-politician Ambareesh Sunday. The veteran actor passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru Saturday due to cardiac arrest, leaving a huge void in the Kannada film industry. He was 66. Mourners filed past the mortal remains of Ambareesh with occasional outburst of emotions at Kanteerva Stadium here amid tight security with about 1,000 policemen deployed in and around the area. The state government Sunday announced a three-day mourning and a state funeral for the late leader. The body of the late film actor was taken from the private hospital where he died to his home in the night and was shifted to Kanteerava Stadium for people to pay homage. Actor Nicole Kidman has revealed that she had almost dropped out of starring in 2002 feature "The Hours" due to her personal life issues. According to The Independent, the 51-year-old actor was speaking at the Life in Pictures event here. Kidman said the producers insisted that she play the character of British writer Virginia Woolf in the 2002 film. "It was interesting because I got very, very scared and tried to pull out of it because I was going through things in my own life," she said. Actor Bradley Cooper has revealed that he pretended to be drunk while shooting for his directorial debut "A Star is Born". The 43-year-old actor told Vanity Fair that he chose to direct the film in a fake inebriated state in order to maintain the consistency of character. "Especially the Grammy scene... Kamal Haasan, Stalin condole death of actor-turned-politician Ambareesh

Actor-politician Kamal Haasan Sunday condoled the demise of veteran Kannada star Ambareesh, saying the former minister had a 'child-like' heart, while an apex actors' body described his death as an "irreparable loss" for the Indian cinema industry. DMK president and state Leader of Opposition MK Stalin also expressed grief over the Kannada star's passing away and described him as "legendary". "Ambareesh was my friend for 42 years. Director Steven Caple Jr has revealed that he thought about including the "Rocky III" character, Clubber Lang, in the upcoming film "Creed II".
