Assam set to host first series of G20 events, meeting to begin this week

Assam is all set to host the first set of G20 events, with delegates arriving in the northeastern state for a meeting that will begin later this week, an official release said. The state will host the first Sustainable Financial Working Group (SFWG) meeting and Youth 20 Inception event in February as part of India's year-long G20 presidency. The state will also host two events in March and one in April. The first SFWG meeting will be held at a hotel in the state's largest city Guwahati on February 2-3 and will be attended by 94 delegates from the member countries of G20, guest nations, different international organisations and officials from the Centre, said the statement issued on Monday. G20 Education Working Group meet to focus on inclusive tech-based learning

The G20 Education Working Group (EdWG), which is set to meet here on February 1 and 2, will focus on ensuring foundational literacy and numeracy especially in the context of blended learning, making technology-enabled learning more inclusive, qualitative and collaborative at every level. Besides, it will also focus on building capacities, promoting lifelong learning in the context of future of work, strengthening research, promoting innovation through richer collaboration and partnerships. Startup 20 group to hold its inception meeting in Hyderabad on Jan 28-29

Hyderabad will host a two-day inception meeting of the Startup 20 Engagement Group, set up under India's G20 presidency, from Saturday. G20 is a grouping of developed and developing nations. Ladakh will get the opportunity to showcase its rich culture and heritage during the G20 summit, Lt Governor RK Mathur said on Thursday. The first meeting of the Youth20 (Y20) group, being organised on the sidelines of the G20 summit, will be held in Assam's largest city Guwahati from February 6 to 8, an official statement said on Sunday. This is the first of the various meetings to be held on the five Y20 themes across India in a run-up to the final Youth20 Summit in August 2023, it said.
