Startup challenge to offer $100,000 to top 3 winners: Karnataka govt

The Karnataka government will organise a startup challenge which carries a prize money of USD 100,000 to the top three successful candidates. The prize distribution will be held on November 4. "We are doing this startup challenge called 'Venturise'. In this, we are giving USD 100,000 as the prize money to top three successful candidates," Commissioner of Industrial Development Gunjan Krishna told reporters on Wednesday. She was briefing reporters at the end of the first day of the three-day Global Investors' Meet (GIM) near Bengaluru Palace. The officer said the announcement will be made at the conclusion ceremony of the investors conclave.

Global Investors' Meet: K'taka govt inks 50 MoUs worth Rs 5.64 trn on Day 1

The Karnataka government on Thursday signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with 50 companies approving their investment proposals worth Rs 5.64 lakh crore on the first day of the Global Investors' Meet in Bengaluru. The highest investment proposal in terms of capital outlay came in the green hydrogen and renewable energy sectors. According to the organisers of the three-day investors summit, the state signed MoUs with seven companies in the area of green hydrogen and its derivatives to the tune of Rs 2.91 lakh crore, while it entered into an agreement with nine companies in the area of renewable energy to the tune of Rs 1.29 lakh crore. In the sunrise sector, 16 companies signed MoUs worth Rs 70,381 crore, while in core sectors, six companies entered into an agreement with the state for investment proposals worth Rs 25,024 crore. Karnataka eyes Rs 5 trillion investment at Global Investor Meet next month

The Karnataka government expects over Rs 5 lakh crore investment during the Global Investors Meet 2022 to be held next month in Bengaluru, state's large and medium industries minister Murugesh R Nirani said on Tuesday. The global investors meet is scheduled on November 2-4 after a hiatus of six years. "The state is expecting over Rs 5 lakh crore in investments in the Global Investors Meet 2022," Nirani said at the launch of a roadshow in the national capital to promote Karnataka as an investment destination. The minister said the state government has already earmarked a total of 50,000 acres of land for investors keen to invest in the state, of which, 20,000 acres are in Bengaluru and 30,000 acres in other parts of Karnataka. Karnataka to hold global investors meet in November 2022: State Minister

: Karnataka will host a global investors meet (GIM) in November 2022 to attracting more investments and job creation, State Minister of Large & Medium Industries Murugesh Nirani said on Friday. The State government plans to set up a bulk drug-manufacturing park in Yadgir district, he said. The Minister was replying to a question raised by Congress MLA from Chittapur Priyank Kharge during Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly. "We are organising a global investors meet in November 2022 called 'Invest Karnataka' to attract more investments and push industrial growth," Nirani said. Tamil Nadu to delay global investors meet by a year

Tamil Nadu's second Global Investors Meet (GIM) is likely to be delayed by a year to 2018. In September 2015, during the conclusion of the first GIM organised by the AIADMK government, the then Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has said that the government will hold GIM every two years.Adressing CEOs of various companies here, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said that next GIM will be held in 2018.It may be noted, former Chief Minister and late J Jayalaithaa on the day of concluding first edition of GIM announced that the state will hold such meets every two years from now.The state claimed that during the first meeting 98 MoUs worth Rs 2,42,000 crore was signed. Of which 61 projects worth Rs 62,738 crore are in various stages of implementation.
