External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today announced that medical visas have been approved for three Pakistani nationals. "Pakistan nationals Fatima Naeem (13 years), Mansoor Bhagani and Shehab Asif have sought medical visa for their treatment in India. We have approved their visa," she tweeted. The Cabinet today gave its ex- post-facto approval for MoUs signed by India with Cuba and Italy for enhanced cooperation in the health sector to upgrade infrastructural resources, medical education and research. The MoU with Cuba was signed on December 6, and the one with Italy on November 29. Luxturna is approved for the treatment of patients with confirmed biallelic RPE65 mutation-associated retinal dystrophy that leads to vision loss and may cause complete blindness in certain patients, FDA said.
