The National Green Tribunal has directed the Delhi government to complete demarcation of forest land in the Southern Ridge area here by June 30. A bench headed by Justice Raghuvendra S Rathore warned the officers concerned that in case the work is not completed till that date then a fine of Rs 5,000 per day would be imposed on them. "After considering the facts and circumstances and the past orders by which time was given for completion of the work, we deem it proper to grant further time up to June 30, 2018. "However, we also direct that in case work is not completed till that date then fine of Rs 5,000 per day thereafter shall be paid, till July 31," the bench said. The Supreme Court today said it will consider in detail the Centre's review petition against its March 20 judgement on the SC/ST Act but declined to keep in abeyance the directions passed by it to deal with the issues of arrest and sanction under the special law. The apex court said people who are agitating may not have read the judgement properly and must have been misled by people with vested interests. The ED today questioned Delhi Health and Power Minister Satyendar Jain in connection with a money laundering case registered against him and others. Officials said Jain was summoned under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and his statement will be recorded by the investigating officer of the case. The PMLA case was registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) last year in August on the basis of a CBI FIR. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) complaint had said that Jain could not explain the source of funds received by four companies in which he was a shareholder. It had registered a case against him, his wife and four others on charges of money laundering. The CBI has grilled him in the case earlier. CBI sources had said that Rs 4.63 crore was allegedly received through Prayas Info Solutions, Akinchan Developers, Managalyatan Projects and Indo-Metal Impex Pvt Limited in 2015-16. A city court has upheld the conviction of two persons by a magisterial court in a temple theft case, saying the duo had "no fear of God". The sessions court ordered the duo, who stole silver articles from a temple in south east Delhi, to remain in jail for six months. The court's decision came on the appeal of the two convicts -- Mahender and Charanjeet-- against the magisterial court order sentencing them to six-month imprisonment for stealing silver articles from Sai Baba temple in East Kidwai Nagar in south east Delhi. "I concur with the observations of trial court that conduct of the appellants (convicts) in possessing stolen property belonging to the temple shows that they have no fear of law and God.
