The biggest challenge in 2022 for the automobile industry will be to sustain business operations and ensure financial health amid various challenges, including global semiconductor shortage, according to a top MG Motor India official. Currently, the domestic market is witnessing increased demand, but it is also impacted by the global semiconductor shortage, which has hit production activities. "The new normal has set unique challenges for the industry. The biggest challenge is to sustain business operations and ensure the financial health of the organisation and its stakeholders. With the industry having exhibited resilience over the last two years, we are looking towards 2022 with cautious optimism," MG Motor India President & Managing Director Rajeev Chaba stated. MG Motor launches seven-seater Gloster trim tagged at Rs 37.28 lakh

MG Motor India on Monday launched a seven-seater version of its SUV Gloster Savvy tagged at Rs 37.28 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variant of the SUV would strengthen the Gloster range and provide customers with the power to choose from a broader range of variants. The automaker currently sells the model with six-seat configuration. "We are introducing the Gloster Savvy with a 7-seater configuration in response to requests from our customers. With this addition to the existing Gloster Savvy with 6-seater configuration, we are offering our customers the power to choose a vehicle as per their needs and preferences," MG Motor India Chief Commercial Officer Gaurav Gupta said in a virtual launch event. Under the hood, the new Gloster Savvy trim, like its six-seat counterpart, comes with a two-litre twin turbo diesel engine generating 200 PS power and 480 Nm of peak torque. MG Motor ties up with Jio for connected features in its upcoming SUV

MG Motor India on Tuesday said it has tied up with digital services provider Jio India for the Internet of Things (IOT) features in its upcoming mid-size SUV. The automaker, which sells models like Hector and ZS EV, would have integration of IT systems enabled by Jio's IoT solution in the upcoming model. Customers of MG's upcoming mid-size SUV will benefit from Jio's widespread internet outreach, along with the connectivity, not only in metros but also in small towns and rural areas, MG Motor said in a statement.
