New Delhi, 23 OctoberSmartphone handset manufacturer Micromax has made a comeback. After almost drowning in the rising tide of Chinese handset makers in the past two years, the Gurugram-headquartered company regained a slot among the top five in smartphone brands during the September quarter, says analyst firm Counterpoint Research.During the June-September period, it managed nine per cent of all smartphone despatches in the country, at fourth spot, pushing Chinese player Oppo a notch behind. Its comeback in the top-five league occurred exactly after two years. In the September 2016 quarter, it held the second position with 10 per cent market share, behind Samsung. However, analysts think this could be short-lived. BS ReporterHyderabad, 14 April: Micromax. one of India's leading mobile handset makers, today said it was expecting a 25 per cent growth in revenues to touch Rs 15,000 crore mark in the current year.The company inaugurated a new mobile manufacturing plant, it's second facility, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The plant was set up at an investment of Rs 100 crore. Speaking on this occasion, Rajesh Agarwal, co-founder and chairman of Micromax said that the company would also pursue the export markets besides seeking to expand in the domestic market in the next 1-2 years.
