Optiemus Infra, Ordinary Theory form joint venture for enterprise hardware

Electronics manufacturing services firm Optiemus Infracom and Ordinary Theory LLC USA have announced to set up a joint venture for manufacturing, market development, and sales of smart enterprise hardware and integrated industrial solutions, a regulatory filing said on Tuesday. The joint venture will focus on creating smart enterprise hardware solutions spanning payments, retail, logistics, and AI. Union Electronics and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday inaugurated Optiemus Infracom's tempered glass screen protectors factory here with an outlay of Rs 870 crore. Earlier this month, the company launched RhinoTech -- Made-in-India tempered glass screen protectors, which uses glass engineered by US-based Corning. Optiemus Infracom has invested Rs 70 crore in the first phase of the factory with installed capacity of 25 million units per annum, generating direct employment for over 600 people. "Optiemus is the new gem in the fast growing electronics manufacturing ecosystem in the country. By the end of this year, production of covered glass from Corning will also commence," Vaishnaw said. Electronics manufacturer Optiemus Infracom expects revenue of Rs 1,800-2,000 crore in the financial year 2027 from its tempered glass screen protectors business, a top company official said on Wednesday. The company launched RhinoTech -- Made-in-India Tempered Glass Screen Protectors, which uses glass engineered by Corning. Optiemus Infracom Chairman Ashok Kumar Gupta said that RhinoTech brings global technology and innovation with enhanced hygienic benefits like anti-microbial glass. "It is the first time in India that such advanced screen protection, developed with glass from Corning Incorporated, will be produced locally and made available for both domestic and international markets. We expect additional revenue of Rs 1,800-2,000 crore in financial year 2027 from RhinoTech business," Gupta said. RhinoTech screen protectors will be manufactured at Optiemus' facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Electronic manufacturing company Optiemus Infracom on Friday said it has forayed into end-to-end drone production business targeting both domestic and global markets. The drone business will be handled by the company's new division Optiemus Unmanned Systems (OUS). Optiemus will design, develop, manufacture and market the drones, the company said in a regulatory filing on Friday. "With a goal to achieve up to 65 per cent indigenisation within a year of launch, OUS aims to make its products export-ready, expand offerings in smarter payloads, and enhance product autonomy with a broader range of unmanned vehicles for various terrains," the filing said. Optiemus to onboard 2,000 in 2 years, raise production capacity

Electronics manufacturing services firm Optiemus Electronics is planning to expand its production capacity and aims to increase its headcount by around 2,000 people in next two years, a senior company official said. The company's existing production capacity is likely to be exhausted within two years and it has started looking for locations to set-up a new manufacturing unit, Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL) managing director A Gururaj told PTI. "We will have to wait and see how much volume our customers will look at, but I do believe that over the next one to one-and-a-half years, at least a couple of thousand people will be added on the shop floor, if not more," Gururaj said.
