Pakistan's record on home soil in Test series hasn't been one to look at as they are without a win since 2021 in their own backyard.
A wet outfield delayed the toss in the first test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. Umpires were set to make a second inspection at 11:00 a.m. local time as there were still some wet patches on the outfield following early morning rain. Rawalpindi will also host the second test of the two-match series from Aug. 30. The Pakistan Cricket Board moved that match because of ongoing construction work at the National Bank Stadium ahead of next year's Champions Trophy.

Pakistan's disastrous T20 World Cup campaign in the USA has expectedly triggered a backlash against the players, who are being criticised for taking their families along, even as their beleaguered cricket board mulled invoking a new defamation law to tackle "unsubstantiated claims and reports". According to a local media report, apart from the nearly 34 players, support staff and officials who were part of the national squad in the USA, the team hotel was teeming with around 26 to 28 family members of the players.
