Ramco Cements Q1FY25 results: Net profit down 51% to Rs 36.57 crore

The Ramco Cements Ltd on Thursday reported a 50.82 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit to Rs 36.57 crore in the June 2024 quarter due to a fall in cement prices and weak demand amid the Lok Sabha polls. The company posted a net profit of Rs 74.36 crore during the April-June quarter of the previous fiscal, The Ramco Cements said in a regulatory filing. Its revenue from operations fell 6.81 per cent to Rs 2,093.55 crore during the quarter under review against Rs 2,246.66 crore a year ago. The decline in net revenue for the Q1 FY25 is "due to drop in cement prices by around 8 per cent", a company's earning statement said. Moreover, the cost of raw materials "increased by 9 per cent YoY (Year-on-Year) from Rs 911 to Rs 990 per tonne for the current year due to inflationary impact on procurement cost", it added. United Breweries Q1 results: Net profit rises 27.5% to Rs 173.8 cr

Beer maker United Breweries Ltd, controlled by Dutch multinational brewing company Heineken NV, on Thursday reported a 27.47 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 173.80 crore for the first quarter ended on June 30. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 136.34 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from United Breweries Ltd (UBL). UBL's revenue from operations rose 10.83 per cent to Rs 5,811.28 crore during the quarter under review. It was Rs 5,243.01 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. Gross profit improvement was driven by volume and price mix, according to an earnings statement. UBL's gross profit margin improved by 247 bps against the previous year, it added. The increase in net sales in Q1 is "driven by 5 per cent volume growth, led by 44 per cent growth in the premium segment, further fuelled by pricing," it said. Motilal Oswal Financial Services Q1 result: Profit jumps 52% to Rs 1,021 cr

Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd (MOFSL) on Thursday posted its highest-ever quarterly profit of Rs 1,021 crore for the April-June quarter of 2024-25, marking a 52 per cent jump from the year-ago period. The company reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 671 crore in the same quarter preceding fiscal. Revenue from operations surged to Rs 2,312.3 crore in the April-June quarter of the current financial year (FY25) against Rs 1,501.5 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal, according to an exchange filing. The company's wealth management business posted a PAT of Rs 177 crore, a 69 per cent year-on-year increase. Further, net revenue for the segment grew by 42 per cent year-on-year to Rs 530 crore. UTI AMC Q1 result: PAT rises 9% to Rs 254 cr, total revenue from ops up 13%

UTI Asset Management Company on Thursday reported a nine per cent growth in profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 254 crore in the three months ended June 30, 2024. In comparison, the company had posted a PAT of Rs 234 crore in the same quarter a year ago, UTI AMC said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges. The company's total revenue from operations rose 13 per cent to Rs 529 crore during the quarter under review, as compared to Rs 468 crore in the April-June quarter of the preceding financial year (2023-24). LT Foods Q1 result: Profit up 13% to Rs 155.3 cr, revenue up 16.4%

LT Foods Ltd on Thursday reported a 13 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 155.28 crore for the first quarter ended on June 30, 2024. It had reported a net profit of Rs 137.44 crore for the April-June quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from LT Foods Ltd, which owns basmati rice brands Daawat and Royal. Airtel Africa reports $7 million net profit for Q1, revenue drops 16%

Bharti Airtel's Africa unit Airtel Africa has reported a consolidated net profit of USD 7 million for the June 2024 quarter against a USD 170 million loss in the year-ago period. Its net profit was primarily impacted by the USD 80 million of exceptional derivative and foreign exchange losses (net of tax) and lower EBITDA due to significant currency devaluation across key markets, Airtel Africa said. It had reported a loss of USD 91 million for the fourth quarter ended March 2024 on account of tax impact and forex loss. "Strong fundamentals and focussed execution continue to support operating performance despite challenging macro-economic environment," the company, which operates in 14 African countries, said. AU Small Finance Bank Q1 results: Net profit surges 30% to Rs 502 cr

AU Small Finance Bank on Thursday reported a 30 per cent jump in its net profit to Rs 502 crore for the first quarter ended June 30. The Jaipur-based lender had earned a net profit of Rs 387 crore in the year-ago period. During the quarter, the bank's total income increased to Rs 4,315 crore against Rs 2,773 crore a year ago, Au Small Finance Bank said in a regulatory filing. Interest income grew to Rs 3,769 crore during the period under review from Rs 2,458 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. Hinduja group flagship Ashok Leyland on Thursday reported a 6 per cent year-on-year fall in its consolidated net profit to Rs 509 crore in the June 2024 quarter. The company posted a net profit of Rs 544 crore in the April-June quarter of the previous fiscal. Total income increased to Rs 10,754 crore in the first quarter against Rs 9,735 crore in the year-ago period, Ashok Leyland said in a regulatory filing.
