Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday accused the Centre of governing the state through remote control and undermining the authority of the elected chief minister. The state doesn't seem to have a government for the last three months, he alleged. He said that ministers are not able to appoint their private secretaries according to their wish and the Centre is implementing the Gujarat model in Rajasthan. "It's been two-three months of the BJP government in the state. There is a discussion in every household as to why there is no governance. I believe that only the chief minister cannot be blamed for it. Gehlot calls for immediate release of Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship funds

Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has demanded that the state government should release the amount to the youths selected under the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme without any delay. He had also written a letter to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in this regard. Amit Shah in Rajasthan's Bikaner on daylong visit; to address BJP workers

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at Rajasthan's Bikaner on Tuesday on a daylong visit to the state. Shah is scheduled to address a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state election committee in Bikaner in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. It will be followed by a party workers' meeting in Udaipur after noon and a meeting with prominent citizens in state capital Jaipur in the evening. Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi will file on Wednesday her nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls from Rajasthan, party sources said. It will be the 77-year-old leader's first term in the Upper House after serving five terms as a Lok Sabha MP. Over 1.5 mn first-time voters in state for LS polls, says Rajasthan CEO

More than 15 lakh new electors in Rajasthan will vote for the first time in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Praveen Gupta said on Thursday. A total of more than 5.32 crore voters are registered in the state for the general elections 2024. Of these, 2,74,75,971 are men, 2,53,51,276 are women, Gupta said. He said that 15,54,604 new voters aged 18-19 years have been added to the electoral roll after the recent state assembly elections who will exercise their franchise for the first time in the upcoming elections. A total of 616 persons of third gender are registered in the new voter list, he added. A tripartite MoU for the revised Parvati-Kali Sindh-Chambal-Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) link project, worth Rs 75,000 crore, was signed between Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and the Centre on Sunday.
