Another casualty of the entry of Reliance Jio in September last year is the subscriber additions by the three mobile service providers - Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular. The numbers have seen a steady decline in the six months or so, are likely to stabilize in the near future as Jio has started billing.According to an analysis of the COAI (Cellular Operators Association of India) data since September 2016, country's largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel witnessed about 5% drop in monthly subscriber additions in October 2016, soon after the launch of Reliance Jio on September 5, last year."Jio going pay has relieved some of the pressure on the incumbents. The latter are competing aggressively on price too. This should stabilize the market to some extent and help slow the drop in the incumbents' subscriber additions," Mahesh Uppal, an independent telecom expert said. The decline was steep in November 2016 when the GSM subscriber additions by Airtel fell to 1.08 million ..
