Mid-tier IT company Persistent Systems on Thursday posted a 25 per cent jump in March quarter profit to Rs 395.76 crore. The Pune-headquartered company reported a net profit of Rs 315.32 crore in the year-ago period. Its revenues grew 25.2 per cent to Rs 3,242 crore from Rs 2,591 crore in the year-ago period, while operating profit margin expanded to 15.6 per cent from 14.5 per cent in the year-ago period. Its Chief Financial Officer Vinit Teredesai said the margins will further expand up to 2 percentage points in FY26. Speaking to PTI, he also added that the company is maintaining its aspiration of getting USD 2 billion in revenues by FY26, as against USD 1.4 billion in FY25 despite the ongoing uncertainties. He said it is very difficult to predict the exact outcome for the company from the shift in trade policies, and added that deal signings have become sluggish as customers adopt a cautious stance. Integrated chemical manufacturer Epigral Ltd on Monday posted a more than two-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 103.63 crore in the December quarter on strong sales. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 49.08 crore in the year-ago period. Total income rose 37 per cent to Rs 649.10 crore during the October-December quarter of 2024-25 fiscal from Rs 473.98 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing. Expenses remained higher at Rs 495.57 crore against Rs 399.82 crore. Epigral Chairman and Managing Director Maulik Patel said: "Epigral's revenue grew by 37 per cent in nine months of FY2025 on account of 15 per cent growth in sales volume from derivatives business and high-value products." Real estate company Puravankara Ltd on Monday reported a 2 per cent increase in its sales bookings to Rs 1,265 crore for the latest December quarter on high demand for homes during festivals. Its sales bookings stood at Rs 1,241 crore in the year-ago period. Puravankara Managing Director Ashish Puravankara said, "The growth in collections is a clear reflection of our strong operational efficiency. In the first nine months of this fiscal, we achieved collections of Rs 2,991 crore, a 19 per cent year-on-year increase". "Keeping in line with our acquisition strategy and our growth plans for the current and next financial year, we have invested approximately Rs 1,100 crore this fiscal, adding a potential GDV of around Rs 10,500 crore," he added. The number of Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) outlets declined to 450 in FY24, though the count of operational vending machines at corporate workplaces and hotels increased to 52,581. The number of Value Express kiosks also declined marginally to 265, according to the latest annual report of Coffee Day Enterprises Ltd (CDEL), which owns the chain through its subsidiary Coffee Day Global Ltd. Coffee Day Global was operating 469 cafes and 268 CCD Value Express kiosks in FY23. Moreover, CCD's presence also declined to 141 cities in FY24, as compared to 154 cities a year before, the annual report showed. It had a presence in 158 cities in FY22. India's construction equipment industry witnessed a 5 per cent rise in sales to 28,902 units during the April-June quarter of 2024-25, a report said on Friday. As per the data released by the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers' Association (ICEMA), the construction equipment (CE) industry had sold 27,577 units in the same period of the previous fiscal. "The first quarter sales of construction equipment in FY2024-25 grew 5 per cent on a year-on-year basis from 27,577 units in Q1 FY2023-24 to 28,902 units in Q1 FY2024-25," it said. The report further said the growth was a result of increasing year-on-year sales in three of the five main equipment segments of the CE industry in the April-June 2024 period.
