Vizag Steel Plant logs highest monthly sales of value-added steel in Aug

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) or Vizag Steel Plant logged its best ever monthly sales of value-added steel products in August since inception at 1.57 lakh tonne, said an official on Saturday. In August, the steel plant sold 99,000 tonne of rounds (steel variety), which is the best ever sales milestone for this variety, and also logged similar performances in the sale of wire rod coils (79,000 tonne), rebars (2 lakh tonne) and structurals (46,000 tonne). "The sales volume of 1,57,000 tonne of value-added steel achieved in August 2023 by RINL is the best ever monthly sales of value-added steel sales for any month since inception," said the official in a press release. Including value-added steel products, Vizag Steel Plant achieved overall sales of Rs 2,502 crore in August 2023, which is 39 per cent higher than Rs 1,806 crore logged in the corresponding period last year. Samsonite grows 40% in H1 2023, eyes Rs 3,600 crore sales by December

Premium luggage manufacturer Samsonite has grown close to 40 per cent in the first half of 2023 and it aims to touch Rs 3,600 crore sales by December, a top company official has said. Samsonite, having 35 per cent share in the Rs 15,000-crore domestic organised luggage market, leads the premium segment with its various products labelled with the original name as well as under the brand of American Tourister. While its recent addition of Kamiliant brand competes with Safari and VIP in the value segment, American Tourister is positioned between Samsonite and Kamliant as a mass-premium brand. The company said it gets 20-25 per cent business from premium segment where it faces little competition. Mercedes-Benz drives in new SUV GLC in India, eyes double-digit sales

Luxury auto maker Mercedes-Benz on Wednesday launched the latest version of its premium SUV GLC in India with price starting at Rs 73.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The second generation GLC comes with petrol and diesel power trains tagged at Rs 73.5 lakh and Rs 74.5 lakh, respectively. The auto maker said the company has received over 1,500 bookings for the model since the start of the booking process. In an interaction with PTI, Mercedes-Benz India Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) Lance Bennett said the company is looking at a double-digit sales growth this year with GLC sales expected to account for 15 per cent of the company's total sales. "We've got some really good demand in the first couple of weeks of order taking. The GLC is a very important product for us," he said. Macrotech Developers Q1 bookings up 17% at Rs 3,350 cr; adds 5 new projects

Realty firm Macrotech Developers has reported a 17 per cent increase in sales bookings at Rs 3,350 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal and added five new land parcels to develop projects with sales potential of around Rs 12,000 crore. Macrotech Developers, which sells properties under the Lodha brand, had sold properties worth Rs 2,860 crore in the year-ago period. In a regulatory filing, Macrotech Developers informed that the company achieved its best-ever first quarter pre-sales performance at Rs 33.5 billion (Rs 3,350 crore) showing a growth of 17 per cent on a year-on-year basis. The company also announced the addition of five new projects with GDV (gross development value) potential of around Rs 12,000 crore across different micro-markets. Tata Housing net sales bookings rise 40% in FY23 on strong demand

Tata Housing, a subsidiary of Tata Sons, on Wednesday said its net sales bookings grew by 40 per cent during the last fiscal year on a strong demand for residential properties in its projects. The company did not disclose the sales bookings value for the 2022-23 fiscal. In a statement, Tata Housing said it has achieved the highest-ever annual residential sales. Prestige Estates sales bookings rise 25% to Rs 12,930 cr in FY23

Realty firm Prestige Estates on Wednesday said its sales bookings rose by 25 per cent to a record Rs 12,930.9 crore in the last fiscal year on strong housing demand. In a regulatory filing, the Bengaluru-based firm said, "During the fiscal year FY23, the group registered record-breaking highest sales of Rs 12,930.9 crore (up by 25 per cent year-on-year) and highest ever collections of Rs 9,805.5 crore (up by 31 per cent y-o-y)." Sales bookings stood at 15.09 million square feet with an average realization of Rs 8,812 per sq ft (up by 17 per cent year-on-year) for apartments/ villas/ commercial sales and average realization of Rs 4,124 per square feet (down 2 per cent y-o-y) for plot sales. The group sold more than 9,600 homes in FY23 spanning over 15 million square feet area. During the last fiscal, the new launches totalled 26.38 million square feet up by 57 per cent annually. Godrej Properties shares zoom 9% after record sales booking in FY23

Shares of Godrej Properties on Monday surged 9 per cent after the company said its sales booking rose 56 per cent last fiscal to an all-time high of Rs 12,232 crore on strong demand for residential properties. The stock jumped 9.06 per cent to finish at Rs 1,227.25 apiece on the BSE. During the day, it rallied 9.81 per cent to Rs 1,235.70. On the NSE, it climbed 8.63 per cent to settle at Rs 1,222.55 per share. In a regulatory filing, Godrej Properties informed that the company achieved its highest-ever sales bookings in the fourth quarter as well as the entire 2022-23 financial year. At 23,926 units, Ashok Leyland reports 19% rise in sales in March 2023

Hinduja Group flagship Ashok Leyland has reported a 19 per cent rise in its sales in domestic and overseas markets at 23,926 units, the company said on Monday. The city-based heavy commercial vehicle maker had sold 20,123 units in the corresponding month of last year. Cumulative sales made by the auto major till March 2023 grew by 50 per cent to 1,92,205 units from 1,28,326 units sold in the corresponding period of last year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. Total sales of medium, heavy and light commercial vehicles sold in March in the domestic market grew by 23 per cent to 22,885 units from 18,556 units sold in the same month of last year. Cumulative sales of medium, heavy and light commercial vehicles till March in the domestic market grew by 54 per cent to 1,80,916 units from 1,17,312 units made last year, the company said.

Mahindra & Mahindra Q3 PAT climbs 14% to 1,528 crore on robust sales

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Friday reported a 14 per cent rise in its profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 1,528 crore for the third quarter ended December 2022, driven by robust sales. The Mumbai-based automaker had reported a net profit of Rs 1,335 crore for the October-December period of the previous fiscal. Its revenue surged 41 per cent to Rs 21,654 crore for the third quarter compared to Rs 15,349 crore in the year-ago period. The company said it has sold a total of 1,76,094 vehicles during the period under review, up 45 per cent from 1,21,167 units a year ago.
