India lose in final of men and women Hockey5s, pocket maiden Youth Olympics silver

India failed to script a perfect finish to its Hockey5s campaign at the third Youth Olympic Games as both the men and women teams lost in the summit clash to settle for their maiden silver medal here. While the men lost 2-4 to Malaysia on Sunday, the women's team suffered a 1-3 defeat at the hands of Argentina later in the day. Malaysia men and Argentina women scripted history by winning their first-ever Youth Olympic Games Hockey5s gold medals. Argentina men and China women secured the bronze medals respectively following 4-0 and 6-0 wins over Zambia and South Africa earlier in the day. In the men's gold medal match, India took the lead after only two minutes through captain Vivek Sagar Prasad. Cristiano Biraghi snatched a late victory to give new Italy coach Roberto Mancini his first competitive victory and keep the Azzurri's Nations League hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Poland in their League A Group 3 clash here on Sunday. #MeToo: BCCI CEO to skip ICC meeting

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rahul Johri will not be representing the cricket body at the upcoming two-day International Cricket Council's (ICC) chief executives' meeting in Singapore in the light of sexual harassment allegation against him.Amitabh Chaudhary, the acting secretary of the BCCI will represent the board in place of Johri, sources said.The decision has been taken by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) after a woman alleged that she was sexually harassed by Johri when he was her colleague at a satellite TV channel. The allegations were posted on Twitter by another individual on behalf of the accuser.Johri was also asked to give an explanation on the allegation within a week. However, he has not made any statement on the matter yet.The meeting of the ICC scheduled to be held from October 16 to 19, will discuss the possibility of including cricket at the summer Olympic Games and how to tighten various T20 and T10 cricket leagues

JKCA organises talent hunt cricket tourney in Leh

The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) recently organised talent hunt cricket tournaments in every district of the state with an aim to get best cricketers at national and international level.Around 10 teams from Leh took part in the initiative, whose final match took place on Sundayat NDS Cricket Ground between Tip Top club and JKP team. Afghanistan batsman Hazratullah Zazai achieved one of the rare feats in the game of cricket when he smashed six sixes in an over during an Afghanistan Premier League (APL) Twenty 20 match here on Sunday. Playing for Kabul Zwanan, the 20-year-old produced a whirlwind 12-ball half-century against the Balkh Legends.
