Silva fifty puts Sri Lanka on top in second Test

Roshen Silva hit an unbeaten half- century to put Sri Lanka in command of the second Test after stretching their lead to 312 against Bangladesh in Dhaka today. The visitors reached 200-8 at stumps on day two in their second innings. The batting effort came after debutant spinner Akila Dananjaya led an inspirational attack to dismiss Bangladesh for 110 in the morning session. Silva was batting on 58, his second fifty in the game, which came amid a regular fall of wickets on what seemed a difficult batting pitch at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The highest successful run-chase at the ground is England's 209-1 against the hosts in 2010. "I don't think it is possible to get more than 300 runs on this wicket. It is common sense but cricket is a funny game," Silva told reporters. "We bowled them out for 100 and we wanted to get more than 300-plus runs actually. "We passed it," added Silva, playing just his third Test since his debut in India last year. Suranga Lakmal, who

Can put India under pressure if we dismiss Kohli early: Morris

Dismissing "big dog" Virat Kohli cheaply could be key to an embattled South Africa's chances of halting India's fine run in the ongong ODI series, feels all-rounder Chris Morris. Leading 3-0, India are on the threshold of securing their first-ever ODI series win in South Africa, with the fourth match scheduled for tommorrow. "You always want to get the main dog out in a team. Kohli's the big dog and the guy is scoring runs for them at the moment," Morris said at the pre-match press conference. He felt that getting Kohli cheaply would have been key, given the remaining Indian batsmen haven't done much. "34 ODI hundreds speaks for itself. He's got a hundred in every single country he's played in. The guy's in serious form at the moment, and he's in form anywhere he plays in the world. "He's a good player but we know if we bowl well enough to him we could get him out. We know he's the main guy in the team, and if we can get him out we can put India under pressure," he ...
