Delhi crush HP 6-0 in Santosh preliminary
Delhi thrashed Himachal Pradesh 6-0 in a Group B preliminary league match of the 72nd Senior National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy here today. Delhi collected 4 points from 2 games. Two more qualifiers identified on Day 2 of Mercedes Trophy
City golfers David D'souza handicap CAT (0-17) and Gaurav Sharma handicap CAT (18-24) qualified for the Mercedes Trophy National Finals on Day 2 of Bengaluru Leg after carding a Nett. Score of 70.4 and 72.4 respectively. The Mercedes Trophy has so far seen 13 qualifiers, including today's, and they will be competing in the National Finals to be played at the Oxford Golf Resort in Pune from April 4 to 6. Tri-nation schedule involving India, SL, Bangladesh revised
The fixtures for the T20I tri- series involving Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh have been revised, and the tournament will now be held from March 6 to 18. To kick off the tournament, which will be played in celebration of Sri Lanka's 70th year of independence, India will once again take on the island nation in the opening match. The event was to run from March 8 to 20, as per the earlier schedule. The tournament, to be called Nidahas Trophy, will follow a round robin format with all the three teams playing each other twice, and the top two progressing to the March 18 final. All the matches will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. 31 RCA units accept BCCI diktat on Lalit Modi
The Rajasthan Cricket Association has taken a giant leap towards getting back into the BCCI fold as 31 out of 33 units of the state association have agreed to accept the conditions laid down by the parent body. The two votes that were not counted were also in favour of the BCCI diktat. But those two votes were not counted since proxy voting was not allowed. Last December, the BCCI at its SGM had decided that it would give the suspended state cricket association relief if it complied with the apex body's terms, which included not allowing disgraced former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi to return in the state fold. The conditions also included that if Modi tried to re- enter the state unit in future, then BCCI will over turn the revocation of the ban. Vani starts season with two-shot win in Hero WPGT
Vani Kapoor played a flawless back nine to carve out a win in the first leg of the 2018 Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour today. Vani, who won four titles in six starts in 2017, carded an even par 72 to finish five-over 221 and edge out Saaniya Sharma by two shots. Saaniya shot one-over 73 which included a costly double bogey on par-5 14th hole. She also had a bogey earlier on 11th hole.
