The Constitution Committee of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) today submitted a draft constitution to the cricket body. "The draft was today submitted by the Constitution Committee and now it will be taken up for discussion in the Managing Committee meeting tomorrow," a senior MCA official, who is privy to the development, told PTI. He said after tomorrow's meeting, the draft constitution would be circulated among members who will be asked to give their objections or suggestions. However, the official, did not divulge details, about it. While the MCA was yet to adopt the Supreme Court appointed Lodha panel recommendations, the Pune-based Maharashtra Cricket Association had recently accepted these recommendations.
The referee who kicked a player during a French Ligue 1 game and then sent him off has been suspended "until further notice", the French Football Federation (FFF) said today. Tony Chapron kicked Diego Carlos of Nantes towards the end of Sunday's match against Paris Saint-Germain after being knocked over when the pair collided in a bizarre incident. Chapron then showed the player a second yellow card. He apologised on Monday, saying Carlos had bumped into him but that his own reaction had been "clumsy" and "inappropriate". The FFF said its technical committee of referees had decided that Chapron be "withdrawn... until further notice". He will be called to appear before the French league's disciplinary commission to explain himself. The sanction means he has been removed from refereeing duties for Wednesday's Ligue 1 game between Angers and Troyes. A teenaged boy today drowned in a check dam while attempting to retrieve a foot ball he was playing near Putturvayal near Gudalur in Nilgiris District. police said a group of youth were playing football and the ball went to the checkdam and some of the boys jumped to take the ball. However, the 17-year-old Mohammed Fahid, who does not know swimming, caught in the slush and could not come out, they said.
