Bhopal women's hockey champion has no toilet

Indian Junior Hockey team goalkeeper Khushboo Khan on Wednesday requested Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for a lavatory to be made at her home.The toilet at Khan's house was demolished one-and-a-half-years ago during an encroachment drive carried out allegedly by the Veterinary Hospital Management."They (veterinary hospital management, which owns the land) broke the lavatory during their construction work. They assured that they would build us another toilet but did nothing. I have faith that Mamaji (Chouhan) would do something for me, I request him to avail facilities for my family", Khan told ANI.Khan said that every time she is away, all she is concerned about is her home and added that most of the time she cannot focus on her game.

Blasters on fire as Hume hat-trick sinks Delhi Dynamos 3-1

Canadian striker Iain Hume struck a hat-trick as Kerala Blasters won their first game on road beating a hapless Delhi Dynamos 3-1 in a ninth round Indian Super League encounter, here tonight. Hume scored in the 12th, 78th and 83rd minute respectively as Kerala elevated themselves to the sixth position while Dynamos remain at the bottom of the heap after their seventh defeat. Theonly goal for Dynamos was scored by Pritam Kotal. In the 12th minute, Hume drew first blood as Courage made it all happen. He dribbled past Pritam Kotal on the left and got inside the box and went to the byline and squared it in, beating Gabriel Cichero's slide and found Hume's feet. Hume slotted it home. His silver jubilee strike was when he took the ball from the throw-in in his stride, turned and got inside the box. He slotted it low past the keeper to find the back of the net.

IOC to host North, South Korea officials for Olympic planning

Officials from North and South Korea will meet at the International Olympic Committee's headquarters on January 20 to hammer out the details of the North's participation at next month's Winter Games, the IOC said today. "The participants will be a delegation from the PyeongChang 2018 Organising Committee and delegations from the (Olympic committees) of the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea), all led by their respective presidents, as well as high-ranking government officials and the IOC members in both countries," the IOC said. "The meeting will have to take a series of essential decisions, including the number and names of athletes and officials from the NOC of the DPRK, since all the deadlines for registration have already passed. Pakistan all-rounder Emad Wasim ruled out of New Zealand T20s

Pakistan's top all-rounder Emad Wasim has been ruled out of the T20 series in New Zealand after the national selectors confirmed that he is yet to recover completely from a knee injury. Chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq while naming a 15-member squad for the three match T20 series in New Zealand also announced that batsman, Sohaib Maqsood was also ruled out with a back problem. The prestigious MCC World Cricket Committee today strongly urged the BCCI to support cricket's inclusion in the Olympics. The World Cricket committee, comprising legends such as Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara along with current Bangladesh superstar Shakib Al Hasan believe that the richest cricket board should not act as a barrier in getting the sport inducted in the quadrennial extravaganza. "The game's application to become an Olympic sport is gathering momentum and that the only remaining barrier is India's reluctance to proceed," an MCC release stated. "The committee has long been a supporter of Twenty20 cricket being included in the Olympic Games, believing it the single biggest step the game could take to unlock worldwide government funding and aid its global development," it further stated. HP CM announces cash award of Rs 5 lakh for Anchal Thakur

Himachal chief minister Jai Ram Thakur today announced a cash prize of Rs five lakh for skier Anchal Thakur for winning a bronze medal at World Skiing Competition. Aanchal, who hails from Burna village in Manali, created as she gave India its first ever international medal in skiing while competing at "Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup, organised by the Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS) in Turkey. Deepal Malik fires India to big win in Blind Cricket WC opener

Haryana boy Deepak Malik scored an unbeaten 179 off 103 balls as India beat Sri Lanka by six wickets in their opening match of the ODI Blind Cricket World Cup in the UAE today. India won the toss and elected to field. Sri Lanka had set the target of 358 with the loss of eight wickets in 40 overs. For Sri Lanka, Suranga Sampath scored 68 runs and K A Silva 64.
