Tata Motors unveils sub-compact SUV Punch; launch later this month

Tata Motors on Monday expanded its product range in the country with the unveiling of its sub-compact SUV Punch. The company plans to launch the model on October 20, and has commenced bookings on its website and sales network across the country for Rs 21,000. The Punch, which would sit below Nexon in the company's product line up, comes with a 1.2 litre petrol engine mated to both manual and automatic transmissions. The model comes with SUV attributes like tall seating, high ground clearance, 370 mm water wading capability and traction feature to aid recovery in off road situations. "As we have seen over the last few years, SUVs today have gone beyond just mere size and it is more about attitude and expression. People have been looking for a smaller SUV or a sub-compact SUV which is relatively a wide space. Tata Motors to launch mini SUV 'Punch' this festive season

Homegrown auto major Tata Motors on Monday said it will launch its mini SUV Punch in the ongoing festive season. Punch is based on the H2X concept, which Tata Motors had showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. It will be positioned below the company's compact SUV Nexon and is expected to hit the market around Diwali this year. Slated for "national launch this festive season", Tata Motors in a statement said Punch will offer a mix of "tough utility with sporting dynamics". It, however, did not disclose further details. Tata Motors President Passenger Vehicle Business Unit Shailesh Chandra said, "Tata PUNCH, as the name suggests, is an energetic vehicle with a capability to go anywhere". MG Motor launches seven-seater Gloster trim tagged at Rs 37.28 lakh

MG Motor India on Monday launched a seven-seater version of its SUV Gloster Savvy tagged at Rs 37.28 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variant of the SUV would strengthen the Gloster range and provide customers with the power to choose from a broader range of variants. The automaker currently sells the model with six-seat configuration. "We are introducing the Gloster Savvy with a 7-seater configuration in response to requests from our customers. With this addition to the existing Gloster Savvy with 6-seater configuration, we are offering our customers the power to choose a vehicle as per their needs and preferences," MG Motor India Chief Commercial Officer Gaurav Gupta said in a virtual launch event. Skoda Auto India commences production of its upcoming SUV Kushaq

Skoda Auto India on Monday said it has commenced production of its upcoming SUV KUSHAQ, the deliveries of which will commence in July. The model, which is the first production car as part of the company's India 2.0 project, is being rolled out from the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) plant in Chakan, Pune. Based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, a variant of the modular MQB-A0 platform, the KUSHAQ is specially adapted by Skoda for the Indian market, the company said in a statement. The model was unveiled in March this year and the company is yet to announce its prices but it is slated to take on the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, which are priced between Rs 9.95 lakh and Rs 17.7 lakh, in the fastest growing mid-sized SUV segment in the domestic market. Renault begins sales of SUV Kiger; delivers over 1,100 units on first day

The Indian arm of French automaker Renault has begun the commercial sales of its SUV Kiger with more than 1,100 units of the vehicledeliveredto customerson the very first day,the company said on Wednesday. The all-new Renault Kiger is currently available for bookings across the company's dealership network of over 500 outlets pan-India besides through its website, Renault India said. "Today (Wednesday),more than 1,100 Renault KIGERcars were delivered to the customers across India on the first day of commencement of sales," the company said.
