TVS Motor Company posts 25% jump in sales at 301,898 units in Dec

TVS Motor Company on Monday reported a 25 per cent rise in total dispatches at 3,01,898 units in December 2023. The company had sold a total of 2,42,012 units in December 2022, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. Two-wheelers sales were at 2,90,064 units in December 2023 as compared to 2,27,666 units in the same month last year, up 27 per cent, it added. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 33 per cent at 2,14,988 units in December 2023 as against 1,61,369 units in December 2022. Motorcycle sales rose by 19 per cent to 1,48,049 units last month as compared to 1,24,705 units in December 2022, while scooter clocked sales of 1,03,167 units as against 76,766 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 34 per cent. TVS Motor says aiming for bigger market share in premium motorbike segment

Two and three-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor is aiming to capture a bigger market share in the premium motorcycle segment, an official of the company said on Wednesday. The company enjoys the number two position in the premium motorbike segment in India, which is growing at 10 per cent at present, he said. Motorcycles having an engine displacement of 150 cc and above are categorised in the premium segment. "We enjoy the number two position in the premium segment in the Indian motorcycle market. We aim to have a bigger market share in this category," Vimal Sumbly, head (premium business) of TVS Motor said. Launching the TVS Apache RTR 310 in Kolkata, Sumbly said the company now offers premium motorcycles ranging from 160 cc to 310 cc displacements. TVS Motor donates Rs 3 crore for cyclone relief work in Tamil Nadu

TVS Motor Company on Saturday said it has donated Rs 3 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to aid relief work in the wake of flooding and damage caused by cyclone Michaung in Tamil Nadu. The money will be used to provide necessary flood relief and support for the communities that have been badly affected by the cyclone, the company said in a statement. "The floods have unleashed severe hardship on the community, and we would like to do our part to support the community," TVS Motor Co Managing Director Sudarshan Venu said. TVS Motor posts 21% increase in total dispatches at 4,34,714 units

TVS Motor Company on Wednesday reported a 21 per cent increase in total dispatches to 4,34,714 units in October, its highest-ever monthly sales. The company sold 3,60,288 units in October last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. Two-wheeler sales were at 4,20,610 units in October as against 3,44,630 units in the year-ago period, up 22 per cent, it added. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 25 per cent to 344,957 units in October as against 2,75,934 units a year ago. Motorcycles posted a growth of 23 per cent at 2,01,965 units last month, up from 1,64,568 units in October 2022, while scooter clocked 1,65,135 units as against 1,35,190 units, an increase of 22 per cent. TVS Motor Co said it sold 20,153 units of iQube electric scooter in October 2023 as against sales of 8,103 units in the same month last year. TVS Motor Company on Wednesday announced it is extending collaboration with Singapore-based tech startup ION Mobility for its entry in the sports scooter segment in Indonesia. The entry will be through Project Dynamo, ION Mobility's conceptual adaptation of TVS Motor's premium flagship crossover electric two-wheeler TVS X. The two partners will deepen their collaboration through Project Dynamo, which began in February 2023 after TVS Motor led ION Mobility's USD 18.7-million Series A funding as a strategic investor.
