New Delhi, June 15 (ANI): The Indian Medical Association (IMA) delegation met Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Saturday, over the ongoing strike of doctors in West Bengal. While speaking to ANI, National President Elect of IMA, Dr Rajan Sharma said, "From last four days resident doctors in West Bengal are on strike and IMA also supported that strike. We called nationwide strike to support the demands and the welfare of the resident doctors situation in West Bengal. Yesterday, Harsh Vardhan told that we will provide the safe environment for the doctors. This meeting was to thank him and soon we will get assurance in writing. He said, our memorandum is with him and he will revert back." The junior doctors have been on strike since June 11 over violence against their colleagues in West Bengal.
Mumbai, Jun 15 (ANI): Finally, Mumbai is all set to have its first-ever Cyber Crime police station soon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis laid its foundation stone on Saturday. It will be open in Bandra West. Last year, cyber crime team received almost 1,300 complaints of which they solved only few cases. Once the project is completed, detection of cyber crime cases in future will begin in a smooth way.
Rohtak (Haryana), Jun 15 (ANI): A 30-year-old doctor from Karnataka committed suicide after being denied leave for his sister's wedding by HOD in Haryana's Rohtak on Friday. He was pursuing MD at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. He was found hanged in his hostel's room. Fellow doctors have gone on strike in protest over the harassment on him.
Saraikela (Jharkhand), June 15 (ANI): While speaking to ANI on five policemen who were shot dead in Jharkhand's Saraikela district on Friday, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Kolhan Kuldeep Dwivedi said, "We have inspected the spot. Prima facie it seems that maoists ambushed and attacked them. Two officers and three jawans died and driver returned safely. Jawans had retaliated and naxals were reportedly injured. A search operation is going on." "We will also make efforts to ensure that such incidents don't occur again. Weapons of the security forces were also looted, 3 INSAS rifles and 2 pistols were looted," DIG added.
Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), June 15 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in a pesticide factory in uttar Pradesh's Meerut today. The fire further spread to an adjacent factory in Mohkampur industrial area of Meerut. Around nine fire tenders are present at the spot. Fire fighting operations are underway. More details are awaited in this regard. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh), Jun 15 (ANI): Five trucks that were illegally used for transport of sand, seized in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam. The state government had recently imposed ban on sand mining and transportation. A new sand policy would be unveiled by AP government on July 1.
Lucknow (UP), Jun 15 (ANI): Challan services using thermal printers have been started on Friday in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow. One hundred and ninety-three thermal printers have been provided to the traffic department of the city. After being issued e-challan with the thermal printer, fine will have to be deposited immediately by defaulters. Those who ride without helmets will be fined Rs 500 the first time. Heavy penalty will be levied on breaking the one-way rule; driving without using a seat belt and signal breaking will attract heavy fines too. The traffic department will be getting card swiping machine soon so that fines could be levied smoothly.

Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), June 15 (ANI): Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal reviewed facilities at the Tirupati railway station on Friday. Piyush Goyal inspected the station premises and reviewed the ongoing redevelopment work. He spoke to the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) officials and others concerned persons on developing the southern entrance and constructing a multi-storied complex on the main entrance side. He met the safai karmacharis and complimented them for maintaining the premises clean and hygienic. He also checked and expressed satisfaction at the food quality and standards.

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), June 15 (ANI): A man was arrested for brutally killing his two children in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad on Friday. The incident took place in Nirmalpur village of Moradabad district. While speaking to ANI, Additional SP (Rural) of Moradabad Uday Shanker Singh said, "He had stabbed his four children with a pair of scissors. One died on spot, another died under treatment. He suspected his wife of having an illicit affair, so he did this." Nirmalpur village is located in Thakurdwara Tehsil of Moradabad district.

Hyderabad, June 15 (ANI): While speaking to ANI on monsoon and current weather conditions in Hyderabad, Meteorologist of India Meteorological Department (IMD) at Hyderabad Mukund Rao said, "We expect monsoon to enter Telangana after June 16, the same for Andhra. It will enter this region after 2-3 days. In south coastal Andhra we have given heatwave warning for three days and in Telangana for two days. Monsoon is expected to be normal."
Hyderabad, June 15 (ANI): The leaders and members of Communist Party of India (CPI) organised a shirtless protest in Hyderabad on Friday. They accused Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of encouraging Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) defections. The protest was led by CPI National Secretary Narayana which began at AITUC office at Liberty Statue and agitators marched to the Ambedkar statue in Tank Bund. The protesters were detained by police and later released. The allegations came after as many as 12 out of the 18 MLAs of Congress party joined the Chandrasekhar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS). On June 6, the 12 Congress MLAs had met the Telangana Assembly Speaker to join TRS.
Mumbai, June 15 (ANI): Around 41 MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attended orientation cum leadership development programme for recently elected MLAs of Arunachal Pradesh at Mumbai on Friday. While addressing the gathering, National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ram Madhav said, "BJP did not come back to power with routine political play and we did not come back by dividing people in the name of caste and religion, polarisation or appeasement. In fact, we returned to power by demolishing all these." "In this country, dynasty was considered to be a huge qualification for politics. Guwahati (Assam), June 15 (ANI): Security personnel and officers pay tribute to Constable Sunil Kalita at Assam's Guwahati airport on Friday. Sunil Kalita was posted with the 209th battalion of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), the elite jungle-warfare battalion of the CRPF. Constable Sunil Kalita had sustained injures in an Improvised explosive device (IED) blast on May 28 during anti-naxal operations in Jharkhand's Saraikela district. He succumbed to his injuries at AIIMS Delhi on June 13. Earlier, he was airlifted to Delhi and brought to the AIIMS hospital on June 4 as he required enhanced medical care and treatment.
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), June 15 (ANI): Ayodhya, the land of Lord Ram, has been put on high alert after intelligence inputs secured by security agencies indicating at a possible terror attack in the holy city of Uttar Pradesh. All incoming trains and buses are being searched and hotels, lodges and guests houses have been put under scanner. The security measures are also being taken in the wake of the verdict in June 5, 2005 Ayodhya terror attack case which is scheduled on June 18. In June 2005, five militants had been gunned down and four Kashmiri militants were arrested in the case. It is also noteworthy that Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is also scheduled to visit Ayodhya with his 18 MPs on June 16.
Sri Muktsar Sahib (Punjab), June 15 (ANI): A woman was brutally thrashed in Punjab's Sri Muktsar Sahib district on Friday. She was dragged out of her home and mercilessly beaten up by brother of Congress Councillor Rakesh Chaudhary and his aides. She was beaten up over a money lending issue. While speaking to ANI, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Manjeet Dhesi said, "This is an extremely unfortunate incident and we have arrested six people and will push for severe punishment. Victim admitted to hospital."
