Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Jun 19 (ANI): The Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) outbreak which started spreading last week in Bihar's Muzaffarpur has now claimed the lives of 112 children in the district. 93 have died at the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) and 19 others lost their lives at the Kejriwal Hospital in Muzaffarpur. Parents who are still queued up at SKMCH with their ailing children complained of government apathy towards the AES outbreak and said they have not received any Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) packets as claimed by the state government. One of the mothers, who was at SKMCH said that her child is burning up with fever for 3-4 days, however, doctors at the hospital didn't admit her child and told her to treat the kid with medicines first. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar after continued criticism over his absence at SKMCH visited the hospital on Tuesday.

Hyderabad, June 19 (ANI): Telangana government will inaugurate Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project on June 21, an official statement read. Chief Ministers of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra - K Chandrasekhar Rao, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Devendra Fadnavis will participate in the function. The three CMs will switch on three pumps at Kannepalli Pump House as a token of the inauguration of the project. Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project is built on River Godavari at Kannepalli village, Mahadevpur Mandal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district of Telangana. The project with 45,000 acres of ayacut aims at lift irrigates almost 235 TMC of water from River Godavari. This is the first biggest project taken up after the formation of Telangana state. Hyderabad, June 19 (ANI): In a special drive by the Hyderabad police, as many as 2,220 minors have been booked this year for driving vehicles. "This year, so far 2,220 minors have been booked for driving vehicles and we have filed charge-sheet in around 1,732 cases. The court has imposed a fine of Rs 1, 61, 700 on these minors," Hyderabad's Anil Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), told ANI. Kumar added that this year no one has been convicted but last year few minors were sent to the juvenile home. As part of the drive, college students were sensitised about the consequences and accidents that result in injuries and deaths. The special drive of the city police will continue until instances of minor driving vehicles come down significantly.

These prayers come as the last straw for the Kannadigas who are suffering from an acute water crisis as a result of a long spell of drought. The devotees believe that reciting these shlokas from the Gita has the power to approach the rain god. The state of Karnataka which has been hit with drought in many districts has had to incur many losses. Rampur (Uttar Pradesh), Jun 19 (ANI): Four persons have been arrested in a case where a couple was thrashed by four men in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district. The woman has also alleged that she was gang-raped in front of her husband. Police has informed that contrary to the victim's account of the incident the woman was not gang-raped as per the investigation. Brijesh Kumar, Sub Inspector,Milak said, "On June 11, a couple was thrashed by 4 men. During investigation, it was found that the woman was not gang-raped. The 4 have been arrested, they had themselves recorded incident and made the video viral."

After two years of launch, Amazon Spark is no longer available. The URL to the service now leads to Amazon's #FoundItOnAmazon site that resembles the company's product discovery tool Interesting Finds, TechCrunch reports. New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): It is important to pay attention to oral care as poor oral health can increase the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by 75%, finds study. The study published in 'United European Gastroenterology Journal', analyzed a large cohort of over 469,000 people in the United Kingdom, investigated the association between oral health conditions and the risk of a number of gastrointestinal cancers, including liver, colon, rectum and pancreatic cancer. Participants with poor oral health were more likely to be younger, female, living in deprived socio-economic areas and consumed less than two portions of fruit and vegetables per day. The biological mechanisms by which poor oral health may be more strongly associated with liver cancer, rather than other digestive cancers, is currently uncertain. New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot recently met the Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi to discuss various financial issues related to the state. In the meeting he requested the centre to give approval to proposals of several pending drinking water projects and ensure timely release of funds of the centrally-sponsored schemes. Gehlot said that as per the past practice the state's share in the central taxes should be released to the respective states on the first date of the month. The states have to make payments towards salaries and pension on the first date, which becomes very difficult. The Chief Minister further requested the Finance Minister that financial proposals of seven drinking water projects costing Rs 5473 crore should be approved at the earliest. New Delhi, June 18n (ANI): Janata Dal (United)'s MP Dinesh Chandra Yadav defended Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey for asking the cricket score during a meeting on the AES outbreak. While speaking to ANI, Yadav said, "During India-Pakistan matches, there's nationalism in people's heart, they want India to win. They did everything seriously in the meeting and asked for score in between, the Opposition's allegations aren't true."
