Ayodhya (UP), Jun 16 (ANI): While addressing a press conference, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in UP's Ayodhya on Sunday said, "From tomorrow Lok Sabha Session will begin so before entering the Parliament all Shiv Sena MPs have come here to take the blessings of Ram Lalla. We strongly believe that temple will be constructed at the earliest. The matter is in Court for a long time. The government is strong now and we all are together. Modi ji has the courage to take the decision. If the government takes the decision to build Ram Temple there will be no one to stop it."

National Capital witnesses sudden weather change

New Delhi, Jun 16 (ANI): Delhi witnessed sudden change in weather today bringing relief to people residing in the national capital. Parts of Delhi-NCR received light rains today. At present, the maximum and minimum temperature in Delhi are hovering at 38 Degree Celsius and 28 Degree Celsius respectively, according to India Meteorological Department. Several areas of Delhi and its surroundings were going through extreme temperature for past few days. Delhi has been witnessing temperature over 40 Degree Celsius in last few weeks.

People in Odisha celebrate earth's womanhood on concluding day of 'Raja Festival'

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Jun16 (ANI): A three-day festival 'Raja Praba' is being celebrated in Odisha's Bhubaneswar. The festival celebrates the onset of monsoons and earth's womanhood across the city. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended greetings to people of Odisha on the auspicious occasion. The festival which started as a tribal practice is based on the belief that Mother Earth menstruated for those three days and she is given a ceremonial bath on fourth day. While speaking to ANI, a local said, "It is a typical Odia festival for girls and women. To celebrate, we wear new clothes, go around with friends, eat traditional Odia food."

CM Yogi Adityanath pays tribute at National War Memorial

New Delhi, Jun 16 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the National War Memorial on Sunday and paid tribute to jawans who laid down their lives for the country post-independence. He also gave remarks on the visitor's book. Harsh Vardhan advises people to avoid moving out till temperature reduces in Bihar

Patna (Bihar), Jun 16 (ANI): At least12 people died due to heat stroke in Gaya. Adequate arrangements were made at the hospital, 6 senior doctors and 10 interns were present. Families of the deceased will be given an ex-gratia of Rs 4 Lakh each. Those belonging to BPL categories are being given Rs 20,000 each for the last rites informed Abhishek Singh, District Magistrate, Gaya. While speaking to ANI, Union Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan who reached Patna said, "It's very unfortunate that people have died due to heat stroke. I advise people to avoid moving out of house till temperature reduces. Intense heat affects brain and leads to various health issues."

'Beti Bachao' committee in all colonies of Bhopal to ensure women empowerment: Shivraj Chouhan

Lucknow civic body uses plastic waste to construct road

Lucknow (UP), Jun 16 (ANI): In a project led by Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), a road is being constructed from Gomti Nagar Police Station to Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Lucknow, using plastic waste collected from across the city. While speaking to ANI, Chief Engineer, LDA said, "Mixing plastic waste increases roads' durability by 40-50%, they will be durable for a longer time." He further added, "8-10% plastic waste is being mixed in coal tar. The road will stay in a good condition for a longer period of time. We use less than 50 micron plastic."

Cow brought to Rajasthan court in ownership case, verdict announced

Suicidal tendencies linked to rheumatic, musculoskeletal diseases, claims study

New Delhi, Jun 16 (ANI): A new survey has revealed that pain due to rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) impacts the mental health of people and they are more likely to have suicidal thoughts. The results were presented at the Annual European Congress of Rheumatology (EULAR 2019). The study conducted a survey on over 900 RMD patients which revealed that pain had caused one in ten to have suicidal thoughts within the previous four weeks. Pain also caused 58 per cent to feel that everything was unmanageable for them. Another important finding was a reciprocal relationship between sleep and pain where 69 per cent people identified the quality of their sleep as having a negative influence on their pain. In return, two-thirds of patients rarely or never felt fully rested when they wake up in the morning, with 36 per cent taking painkillers to improve their sleep. Of the participants, 83 per cent have pain daily or several times a week and 46 per cent have received strong painkiller

'Mango Man' grows new variety named after Amit Shah

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jun 16 (ANI): Padma Shri Haji Kalimullah Khan, a mango grower also known as 'Mango Man', has grown a new variety of mangoes and named them after HM Amit Shah. He says, "People come and go but fruits will stay. I'm naming them after good men so that people remember them even when they're gone." He further added, "These mangoes match with personality of Amit Shah. I hope they also taste good so that they match him well. I'd also named varieties of mangoes after Aishwarya, Sachin, Akhilesh, Kalam sa'ab and Bachchan sa'ab. People will always remember good people like this."

Father stabs 15-year-old as she wanted to continue her studies

Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Jun 16 (ANI): A 15-yr-old girl of village Hathoura of Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur was allegedly stabbed by her father and thrown in a canal yesterday. Girl said, "My father wanted to marry me off, I had rejected his proposal as I wanted to study. He stabbed and threw me in a canal." Speaking about the incident, ASP Dinesh Tripathi said, "The girl is telling us she was thrown in a canal by her father. She is now in a hospital. Investigation is underway. Action will be taken based on the findings."

1400 marijuana chocolates seized, two held in Telangana

Medchal- Malkajgiri (Telangana), Jun 16 (ANI): Two people were held and 1400 marijuana chocolates were seized in raids conducted by excise department officials in Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana on Saturday. According to the excise department, the drugged sweets were wrapped in normal chocolate covers. "We first conducted a raid on a betel shop where 80 marijuana chocolates were recovered," Balanagar Prohibition and Excise station inspector Jeevan Kiran said. He said that as many as 1320 marijuana chocolates were recovered in another raid on a shop located in Balanagar area of the district. A case was registered and the accused were sent to judicial remand.

HS Rana, TTE of Delhi Division came forward to help woman since no doctor was available at the moment. Father of the baby, said, "TTE sir helped us a lot, he even made announcement for a doctor, couldn't find any doctor, then few women came forward to help us out."
