Mangaluru (Karnataka), June 14 (ANI): The houses in Karnataka's Mangaluru have been partially damaged due to tidal waves during the monsoon season on Thursday. Houses were damaged in Ullal area of Mangaluru. Around 15 houses were damaged due to the tidal waves. Many people in the area were also worried about Cyclone Vayu which was about to hit the sea shores in Mangaluru.

Kamal Nath lays wreath on mortal remains of CRPF Constable Sandeep Yadav at Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), June 14 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath laid wreath on the mortal remains of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Constable Sandeep Yadav at Bhopal airport on Thursday. Constable Sandeep Yadav lost his life in the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag on June 12. Around five CRPF personnel were killed in this attack in South Kashmir's Anantnag. Slain soldier Sandeep Yadav belongs from Dewas in MP.

Telegram says massive cyber attack originated in China

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): Telegram founder Pavel Durov revealed that the massive cyber attack on the encryption-based service was launched by China. In a tweet response, Durov wrote that the IP addresses originated mostly from China. He further added that all state actor-sized DDoS attack coincided in time with protests in Hong Kong. The revelation comes a day after Telegram's network experienced outage after it was flooded with overwhelming traffic.

1st batch of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra pilgrims reach at ITBP camp in Uttarakhand

Mirthi (Uttarakhand), June 14 (ANI): The first batch of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra pilgrims crossed Lipulekh route on Thursday. They have reached at Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Camp in Mirthi through the Lipulekh route. The 58-member batch was flagged off on June 11 from the national capital by External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar. The Ministry of External Affairs organises the annual Yatra via two different routes-Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand) and Nathu La Pass (Sikkim). Thousands of devotees participated in the Yatra through a treacherous route that crosses territorial boundaries of India, Nepal and China. According to the schedule, 18 batches will trek across the Lipulekh pass in Uttarakhand while 10 other batches will go via the Nathula route to Sikkim. Each batch comprises 50 people. While the Liplekh route passes through a very mountainous area, the fully motorable Nathu La route that opened a few years ago requires minimum walking and will, therefore, help senior c

Nigerian national arrested by Delhi Police for duping people in fraudulent scheme

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): A Nigerian national was arrested for allegedly duping dozens of people in a fraudulent scheme in Delhi. Gilbert Pedro was arrested by Delhi Police's cybercrime unit Cyber Prevention, Awareness and Detection Centre (CyPAD) on Thursday. Nigerian national was illegally staying in India. He duped several people of crores of rupees through an "Herbal Oil Scam". The man used to target his victims through LinkedIn. The matter came into light after two people, who were duped of more than Rs 1.5 crore, approached the Delhi Police.

Manipuri guy awarded Dollar 5000 by Facebook for finding WhatsApp bug

Imphal (Manipur), Jun 13 (ANI): Facebook awarded Zonel Sougaijam, a 22-year-old engineer from Manipur's Imphal, with 5000 US dollars for finding a bug in its messaging service application WhatsApp. Sougaijam found the bug, when he was using the Facebook-owned app to voice call his friend and informed Facebook about it. Facebook then acknowledged the technical glitch and fixed the bug within 15 days. "I came across this bug during a voice call with my friend and reported it to Facebook, they acknowledged the bug and fixed it within 15 days," Sougaijam told ANI.

Cyclone Vayu: NDRF rescues pregnant woman from Gujarat's Jafrabad

Jafrabad (Gujarat), Jun 13 (ANI): Even though cyclonic storm Vayu deviated from its original path, and now will not hit Gujarat after changing its course overnight, the officials at work left no stone unturned to shift people living in low-lying areas. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued a pregnant woman from Jafrabad's Shiyalbet village where boats are the only mode of transportation. The pregnant woman who required pre-term delivery was transported to a nearby hospital where she successfully gave birth to a baby boy, and the condition of both mother and child is stable.

India's efforts to improve relations with Pakistan have been derailed: PM Modi tells Xi Jinping

Doctors at AIIMS Delhi stage unique protest over assault on junior doctor in WB

New Delhi, Jun 12 (ANI): Coming out in support of growing violent incidents against junior doctors at multiple hospitals in West Bengal, members of Resident Doctors' Association of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) sported helmets and bandages during their shifts at the central hospital in Delhi, as a mark of protest. One of the placards read, "We are not terrorists. We are doctors, we save you." The protesting doctors are demanding violence-free environment for themselves. Following an incident of mobs chasing and attacking junior doctors at medical colleges in West Bengal, a number of doctors have taken part in strikes to condemn such incidents and demand safe work place for them. One of the junior doctors suffered head injuries due to the attack.

Scientists collect samples to find source of Nipah virus in Kerala

Ernakulam (Kerala), Jun 13 (ANI): An eight member team of scientists from Institute of Advanced Virology, Kerala and National Institute of Virology arrived in North Paravur, Ernakulam to collect samples from fruit eating bats to find the source of the Nipah virus. A 23-old-man was tested positive for Nipah virus infection on June 4, 2019. The deadly disease killed 17 people in Kerala last year. A total number of 15 people are under observation in the state. Nipah virus is transmitted from animals to humans causing respiratory illness. According to World Health Organisation, there is no treatment or vaccine available for either people or animals.
