Nalanda (Bihar), June 13 (ANI): Around four people were allegedly died due to dust storm and rain in Bihar's Nalanda on Wednesday. They were found dead in Sherpur village of Noorsarai block in Nalanda district. While speaking to media, the investigating officer of the case Amresh Kumar said, "We are being told that they died due to lightning. They were found dead, near a pond."
Puducherry, June 13 (ANI): While speaking to ANI on Nipah virus, Director of Department of Health and Family Welfare Service in Puducherry, Dr KV Raman said, "There was a lone case of Nipah in Ernakulam, Kerala. So, we are involved in Kerala because one region of Puducherry is in Kerala-Mahe. Necessary steps have been taken to prevent Nipah." "We are asking people to come to hospitals as soon as they experience fever, especially when a patient is delirious or have mental disorientation with high fever. Doctors are being trained to detect patients with brain fever, cough and those who have visited Ernakulam and four districts around it," he added. "We have started isolation wards in hospitals in Mahe and other places. All the equipments for the personal protection of the staff attending these patients are ready," he further stated.
South Salmara Mankachar (Assam), June 13 (ANI): Around nine cattle smugglers were arrested by police from India-Bangladesh border areas. While speaking to media on this matter, Superintendent of Police (SP) of South Salmara Mankachar district said, "We have recovered iron cutters from them. We had received information that smugglers used to cut fences at the border and smuggle cattle. Nine cattle have also been recovered."

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), June 13 (ANI): A Special 'aarti' was performed at Dashashwamedh ghat in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi on Wednesday. The 'aarti' was performed on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra. Ganga Dussehra is celebrated on the 10th day (Dashami) of the waxing moon (Shukla Paksha) in the Hindu month Jyeshtha, also marks the day when Goddess Ganga is believed to have descended from the heavens to Earth. Thousands of devotees flocked the Dashashwamedh Ghat to take a dip in the holy Ganges while others were seen performing puja on the banks of the river. Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir), June 13 (ANI): Normal life was hit in Jammu on Wednesday due to the state-wide strike by transporters. They protested against the administration's decision on the installation of location-tracking devices in vehicles as a security measure in the militancy-infested state. No commercial vehicle like private buses, mini-buses, trucks, taxis and auto-rickshaws plied on roads as all transport associations in the state joined the protest. According to the All Transporters Welfare Association (ATWA), more than hundred transporters took out protest marches in capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar to press the government to withdraw installation of GPRS on transport vehicles. All Jammu and Kashmir Transporters Association protested against non-issuance of fitness certificates to commercial vehicles by the state transport department.
Agra (UP), June 12 (ANI): Newly elected president of Uttar Pradesh Bar Council Darvesh Yadav was shot dead in Agra civil court Wednesday evening. She was killed by her fellow associate advocate Manish Sharma. Additional Director General of Police, Ajay Anand told ANI, "She was attending welcome ceremony when Manish fired three bullets on her with his licensed pistol. After that Manish Sharma shot himself, he is admitted to hospital in critical condition." Darvesh Yadav was elected president of UP Bar Council two days back. Police are trying to ascertain the motive behind culprit's action.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Jun 12 (ANI): As Gujarat is bracing for cyclone Vayu which is expected to hit the coastal regions of the state tomorrow, the government has "intensified" its evacuation drive, and said that it has shifted over two lakh people from the low-lying areas to more than 2000 shelters, in order to mitigate the loss of lives. "We have intensified our evacuation drive and so far, more than 2,15,000 people from over 500 villages, they have been shifted to more than shelter places," said Pankaj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Gujarat Revenue Department.

Lucknow (UP), June 12 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting in Lucknow with senior officials on law and order situation in the state.The meeting was attended by District Magistrates (DMs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and Superintendent of Police (SPs) from all districts across the state.Officials were not allowed to carry their mobile phones along with them and had to leave their devices outside the meeting hall. Rupani said, "We have decided to shift everyone who is living on low lying areas and 1.5 lakh people have already been shifted, and by this evening, we'll shift over 3 lakh people. They will be provided with shelter and daily need items through our local administration. We are also receiving all help from the central government. 47 companies of NDRF have arrived and more will come by evening." Srinagar (JandK ), June 12 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir's Governor Satya Pal Malik rejected the earlier reports that the Centre was planning delimitation in the state. While addressing a press conference in JandK, Satya Pal Malik said, "Delimitation is not a one day process, it's a constitutional matter, even the Home Ministry has not confirmed it. Right now these are only rumours." Kolkata, Jun 12 (ANI): Kolkata Police today used water cannons, teargas against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers who were protesting on Bepin Behari Ganguly Street and were marching towards Lal Bazaar. The BJP continued its protest in Kolkata following the killing of its two party workers last week in North 24 Parganas in political violence which also claimed the life of a TMC member. Ever since the BJP made huge inroads in the state after Lok Sabha elections, winning 18 of 42 seats there, political violence has seen an uptick in the state as both the parties accuse each other of unleashing violence in the state for the sake of power. BJP's national general secretary Kailash Vijayawvargiya, who took part in the protest, held Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee responsible for the violence in West Bengal, and said that even though BJP is ruling many states in the country, none of them is witnessing political violence.
