Darbhanga (Bihar), Apr 25 (ANI): Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister held a public rally in Bihar's Darbhanga. While addressing the rally, PM Modi spoke about new India and its take towards terrorism. He said, "National security may not be an issue for those who do 'mahamilavat' but in new India, it is a big issue. This is the new India, it will go inside terror camps and destroy them. Darbhanga has experienced terrorism from very close. The country has got such a module that lead to damage to Darbhanga's prestige and it was because of those people."

LS polls: Locals expecting Shimla to become smart city soon

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 25 (ANI): Amid the Lok Sabha elections, development of Shimla as smart city is the key poll issue in north Indian hill town Shimla for general people. The local residents feel deceived from both Congress and Bharatiya Janata party (BJP). The people involved in travel and tourism business are disappointed as there are problems of water scarcity, traffic jam and vehicle parking. The local residents are expecting to get rid of all major issues as they want to see Shimla becoming the smart city. They said that all the political leaders have been failed to fulfill basic infrastructure to the city.

Fishes found dead on banks of Tunga River in Karnataka's Shivamogga

Shivamogga (Karnataka), Apr 25 (ANI): Several fishes were found dead on the banks of Tunga River at Mattur-Hosahalli village limits in Karnataka's Shivamogga on Wednesday. Tunga River originates from Western Ghats and it provides clean drinking water to many cities including Shivamogga. People residing in that area have complained to the district administration about this matter. Official have inspected the spot and had taken fishes and water sample to the laboratory. The cause of their death is yet to be ascertained.

UP Minister calls SP-BSP-RLD trio 'fused transformer', says they won't get single seat in LS polls

Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 25 (ANI): Urban Development Minister in Uttar Pradesh government and BJP MLA from Shahjahanpur, Suresh Khanna, on Thursday downplayed Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati's rally in his constituency by saying that all the constituents of SP-BSP-RLD trio are "fused transformer" and their coming together would not help them as one can't "light a bulb or fan" with fused transformer. The BJP minister added that the opposition in Uttar Pradesh has been routed in the first three phases of Lok Sabha elections, and they will not get even a single seat in the state.

Air India flight catches fire in APU at Delhi airport

New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): Air India Delhi to San Francisco (Boeing 777) flight caught fire in Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) at Delhi airport on Wednesday. Incident took place during Air Conditioner (AC) repair. Plane was empty at the time of repair work. Fire was doused off immediately.

Anantnag encounter: Two terrorists neutralised

Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 25 (ANI): Two terrorists have been neutralised in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag today. Incriminating material including arms and ammunition was recovered from the site of encounter. Encounter took place at Bagender Mohalla of Bijbehara in South Kashmir's Anantnag district. A cordon and search operation was launched in Anantnag district by security forces. Further investigation is underway in this case.

LS polls: Security tightens ahead of PM Modi's visit in Varanasi

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 25 (ANI): The security has been tightened up in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit today. Security personnel have been deployed at several places. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest from Varanasi and will file his nomination on April 26. PM Modi will also conduct in roadshow in Varanasi on April 25. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray and other National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders will be present during nomination filing by PM Modi on April 26.

Twitter tests redesigned web layout

NewDelhi, April 25 (ANI): After running a limited, opt-in test programme in January, Twitter appears to be testing the redesigned look for its desktop version out in the open. As Cnet reports, the revamped version does not appear the same to everyone. Some will be able to see two columns instead of three, with a larger timeline on the left and the trending topics, who to follow, in the right. The other layout shows a third, static column that shows notifications and messages. Other new features include an option to change text size, dark mode, and an option to choose the latest tweets first.

Agent had approached her daughter and offered Rs 40000 to look after her ailing sister in Qatar. While speaking to ANI, her mother Tabassum Begum said, "My daughter is a nurse. An agent had approached her and offered Rs 40000 to look after her ailing sister in Qatar. But they're torturing and starving her, making her work as domestic help.
